Honoring Others Marisol Zarco
Marisol Zarco is one of the newest
members of the John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary. Marisol was born and
raised in Newport Beach, California. She received a degree from the
Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising before continuing on to the
Fashion Institute of Technology in New
York. She eventually returned home and has been married
for the past 16 years to her husband Dominique, with whom she has two wonderful
children.
Originally
diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, and then again in February of 2009, her first contact with the Institute was during a consultation with Armando E. Giuliano, M.D.
and J. Arthur Jensen, M.D. At Saint
John's Health Center Marisol discovered a warm and
personable doctor with a comforting staff. "Dr. Giuliano really made me feel like I was his only patient and he tells it like it is," says Marisol.
