Changing Lives
Many donors sponsor the Surgical Oncology Fellowship
Program and its fellows here at John Wayne Cancer Institute. These young doctors
graduate from our program to become chiefs of oncology or professors at
universities and campuses nationwide thanks to the generosity of dedicated
philanthropists. However, the Fellowship Program is not the only way that our
researchers are changing the lives of younger
generations.
Our researchers are also changing the lives of young
people like Jessica Alvarez, a recent University of California, Santa Barbara graduate, through summer
internships and laboratory research work. This work, done in conjunction with a
researcher, gives interns the insight and knowledge to move forward to making a
difference in the world. Read more...
