Consistency Counts
Being
philanthropic is not only about donating a large lump sum of money to
charity. A donor can take many forms and
give any amount. We at the John Wayne
Cancer Institute would like to take this chance to thank the donors who are
often not mentioned in newspaper articles, radio spots or television news. These are our supporters who consistently
give an amount up to $200 every month...some for the past ten years.
This
fundamental group of donors supports the various needs and programs of the John
Wayne Cancer Institute. Many of their
gifts are unrestricted tribute gifts, given in memory of a family member who
may have passed from cancer. These funds
are extremely useful and are always needed to help the Institute conduct its ongoing
research.
There is
a wide array of donation devices available today but many of our consistent
donors give via our direct appeals and online. For example, we have one donor who has
donated $3 every month since 1997. It
may not seem like much, but over the past 12 years he has donated over $400. Other donors who give larger amounts have
individual totals that add up to more than $10,000 since 1998. To give a larger perspective, this group of
consistent donors has given nearly $3 MILLION to the John Wayne Cancer
Institute over the past 10 years. Read the rest of this story... |
