Strut Your Mutt
It's that time of year again - when we strut our stuff for the GALT greyhounds. The best part is that you can strut anywhere - in your neighborhood, at the gym or even by just kicking back on your couch if that is your preferred style. You don't need a greyhound to strut; you don't even need a dog!
The Central Texas GALT representatives will be stepping out this year in Austin on September 29th in the Best Friends Strut Your Mutt Walk and need our support. If you're interested in participating in the acutal walk in Austin, please contact Sadie Pack at Spack5@austin.rr.com for more details. We can, of course, be with them in spirit, but we can also show our support no matter where we are as they put their best feet forward for the GALT greys! All proceeds will benefit the GALT greyhounds.

NEWS YOU CAN USE
Monitoring you dog's weight is extremely important to their health and longevity and is as much about looking at them as putting them on the scales.
Can you see the ribs, or just feel them? Do they have a belly hanging down, do they look like a coffee table? Do they have an hour glass shape looking down from above? These things are all keys to knowing your dog's body condition. Greyhounds should fall closer to the "thin" side of "ideal" but this is a good reference chart.
