Greetings!
It's time to vote for the Chase Community Giving charities. This is where you, the fans, help decide what matters and help choose charities to share in grants from
Chase. Yes, with your help, GALT could win a grant to help the greyhounds!
Chase is giving away $5,000,000 to the charities with the top votes! If GALT is in the top 196, we will receive a grant - as you can see, there's a lot at stake here:
- $250,000 to the charity receiving the most votes
- $100,000 to the next ten runner-up charities
- $50,000 to the next thirty-five runner-up charities
- $20,000 to the next fifty runner-up charities
- $10,000 to the next one-hundred runner-up charities
Even the $10,000 grant level would mean three broken legs repaired, or 10 months of preventative medication for all of our greyhounds awaiting adoption, or the treatment of several dogs with heartworms or tick-borne diseases.
From Thursday, September 6th to Wednesday, September 19th, Chase online customers and Facebook members can vote for GALT - just follow those two links!
After you've voted, share a link to the voting with your friends and family - if someone else votes using your link, you can win an extra vote! Please note that there is not a daily voting requirement; once you cast your votes, you are done!
So help us get out the vote in the next two weeks, and help us with our dedication to "No Grey Turned Away!" Share this with friends, family or co-workers by sharing your voting link, or forward this email with the button on the left sidebar. Get out the vote for the greyhounds!

Strut Your Mutt
It's that time of year again - when we strut our stuff for the GALT greyhounds. The best part is that you can strut anywhere - in your neighborhood, at the gym or even by just kicking back on your couch if that is your preferred style. You don't need a greyhound to strut; you don't even need a dog!
The Central Texas GALT representatives will be stepping out this year in Austin on September 29th in the Best Friends Strut Your Mutt Walk and need our support. If you're interested in participating in the acutal walk in Austin, please contact Sadie Pack at Spack5@austin.rr.com for more details. We can, of course, be with them in spirit, but we can also show our support no matter where we are as they put their best feet forward for the GALT greys! All proceeds will benefit the GALT greyhounds.

NEWS YOU CAN USE
How can you tell if your greyhound's martingale collar is adjusted to the right size?
When you pull the collar snug with the D-ring, you should be able to fit two or three fingers across the base of the small loop. If the small loop closes completely, it's too loose!

INCOMING GREYHOUNDS
Savanna, aka Idling Slats, is a 3-year-old black female born April 14, 2009. Her dam is Gramauldi and her sire is Gable Oscar, making her half-sibling to Jaycee. Savanna has 107 races to her credit on Greyhound-data.com, all at Gulf Greyhound Park. She started on November 13, 2010 and finished on September 1, 2012. Savanna's career ended with a broken right hock - she is under the care of Dr. Bob Radasch of the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center.
Casey is a 1½-year-old black male born on November 17, 2010. His sire is Lonesome Cry and his dam is Kayjay Obsession. Casey was turned in to an Amarillo shelter, and from there joined the GALT family. He was not individually registered and has no races to his credit. This smaller boy is a real sweetheart! Casey is cat trainable. He was in a home for a few weeks, but would do better with daytime companionship of another dog, or of people.
