Greetings!
GALT is indeed blessed to have the assistance of wonderful veterinarians all over the state of Texas who provide consistent, excellent care to our greyhounds.
As an expression of GALT's sincere gratitude for their continued, generous support during these past 11 years, the framed collage picture showing ALL the greyhounds taken into the GALT family from 2001 to 2012 was recently presented to several of our valued vets and their staffs.
Dr. Wick Culp and staff of the Animal Medical Center in Amarillo have been involved since GALT's inception - helping with the strays and shelter greys as well as the many greyhounds that arrive from the coyote hunters in west Texas. Dr. Ron Stried and staff of VCA Tanglewood Animal Hospital in Austin have also been involved since GALT's inception. Many of GALT's injured reserve greyhounds, mostwith fractured limbs, are fostered in homes in the Austin area, and Dr. Stried provides ongoing support for these difficult cases. Dr. Jeff Ellis and staff of VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital in Dallas have also been involved since the beginning, and Dr. Ellis serves as an Advisory Director on GALT's Board. Also helping Dr. Ellis is Dr. Christy Soileau who has been on staff for the past 6 years and has treated so many GALT greyhounds. Without their dedicated and continued support, GALT could simply not continue in its mission of no grey turned away.

This event is all about what greyhounds do best - be couch potatoes extraordinaire! Your $25 ticket gets you the following:
- A meal that we won't provide - there are three greyt options for you to dream about

- An event shirt - the shirt is for real! But it will arrive 2-3 weeks after the event since we have no volunteers working.

 FEATURED GREYHOUND
Flash, is an approximately 2-year-old brindle male. Flash came to GALT as an owner surrender; he is not tattooed so his age is estimated. He is an active boy who loves to play, play, play! Flash would do best as an only dog and needs a home with a yard. Some of our volunteers think Flash is just the best thing since sliced bread, and here's why!
As Bob recovers from his stroke, Flash is bonding each week. He greets Bob with affection undaunted by his wheelchair. Flash looks forward to the weekly visits and stands sentry at Bob's feet. He shows affection at every level and gently nestles his head in Bob's lap. Flash is observant and obedient in every way. He allows Bob to pet and stroke him despite the awkward uncoordinated motion. Flash would make any home better with the love he provides. This dog is truly an amazing animal.
