Greetings!

Our Summer kickoff fundraiser, Tequila Tasting at Maximo, has been postponed to next week, JUNE 14. That gives you more time to purchase your tickets if you haven't done so yet! Does your grey need to work on his/her socialization skills? The fur kids can hang out and watch the 2-leggers look silly! The GALT Tequila Tasting Fundraiser is a fun event for 2-leggers and 4-leggers alike!

CHARITY AUCTION

NORTHCOAST GREYHOUNDS PRESENTS:

JASPER AND STERLING PENDANT with XL 8Ball!
especially for "CHARITY" at
GREYHOUND ADOPTION LEAGUE OF TEXAS!

Charity is 10 years old, and the poor girl arrived in difficult shape.
She lost 14 teeth in her dental, had major complications from her spay,
is heartworm positive and has a serious skin condition on her back.
This girl needs help - and a home!

Necklace
2" in diameter, this colorful circle of jasper
serves as a pillow and backdrop for our largest 8Ball.
Because of its size, we've included a 30" heavy sterling chain.
Retail value for this necklace exceeds $250-
will it raise that much for Charity? We'll see!

We admire GALT for their "No Grey Turned Away" policy
and we wish we could help with expenses for every greyhound they bring in.
At least we can send a little help for Charity-
along with our hopes for her good health and the perfect adoption she deserves.

CRITICAL FOSTER NEEDS!

Caprice (age 11) and Rain Dance (age 12 1/2)  had a bunch of teeth pulled today, as well as some cysts/growths removed, externally and internally.   They need immediate foster homes in order to recover, especially considering their age. Rain Dance is a smaller girl - about 55 lbs and is outgoing. Caprice is a bit shy and weighs about 60 lbs.

Angie is finally HW negative and needs a foster home in the DFW area by 6/15. She has good house manners since she's been in foster care for so long.

Cracker needs a foster home in the DFW area so he can go to M&Gs.

The Vilches family needs to move at least one, preferably two, of their 5 current fosters to make room for a broken leg arriving next week.  Katrina is the best prospect for moving - she is house trained, walks nicely on leash, crates, and is filling out well. She is done with her medication and is waiting to be re-tested for tick-borne diseases. No cats for her please.

Those dogs in boarding are Comanche, Dimple, Flash, Gabriel, Gumbo, Gus, Kiwi and Kyrie and they are all ready and waiting for a foster home.

If you can take any of these dogs, even temporarily, please, please, please consider it.  We're in definite danger of having to turn away greyhounds at this point due to a lack of foster homes and full boarding facilities.  Please contact Jennifer Vilches at 214-704-5252 or jennifer@vilches.org if you can help.

FEATURED GREYHOUND

Truffles

Truffles is a 1 1/2-year-old black female with white tipped toes born in October 2010. She has an adorable little splash of white just in front of her left ear. Her tattoos are still being researched, but Linus is her littermate. She was turned in to an Amarillo shelter by a coyote hunter. This happy little girl would love to find a family of her own! Truffles is not cat tolerant and has yet to be tested around small dogs.

Truffles is such a sweet girl - quick to give a kiss with her cute forked tongue or or receive one on the white kissing spot on her forehead! (She hasn't shared how her tongue is missing a chunk and she doesn't seem to mind - we think she barks with a lisp now!) Truffles relies on other dogs in the house to show her what to do. She wasn't sure about going on a walk at first and now she stands in the prep area to get leashed up. Truffles does need a home with a yard as she is a bit private about doing her business on a leash. Velcro is an accurate description - she wants to be nearby and follows us from room to room. If you get on the floor with her, she'll love on you with all her heart. This is one beautiful black greyhound with big brown eyes that is ready to be your forever friend.
