Summer is knocking on the door, and what better way to celebrate than by bringing your greyhound out for some summer socialization! The GALT Tequila Tasting Fundraiser is sure to be fun for 2-leggers and 4-leggers alike!
For just $45, you can sample fine tequilas and hors d'oeurvers from Chef Amador Mora on the pet-friendly patio of Maximo Cocina Mexicana and Margarita Lounge. Additional beverages like $6 margaritas will also be available, as well as some greyt raffle items!
Animal Whimsey jewelry will be available for purchase and Suzanne Burke will be in attendance signing copies of her book, Logan's Secret. Logan will also be available to "pawtograph" his book!

FEATURED GREYHOUND
Ida, aka Ina's Ace, is a 6-year-old black female born April 17th, 2006. Her sire is OshKosh Slammer and her dam is Touche Baby. Ida has 22 races to her credit on Greyhound-data.com starting on November 24, 2007 and ending on August 30, 2009. She raced at Orange Park in 2009 and at Derby Lane in 2007 and 2008. This little girl is ready to prance into your life with her cute white-tipped feet! Ida is not cat trainable - she was hunting the cat immediately. She is currently being treated for corns and is responding well.
Ida is a very sweet girl who likes to be where you are. She is a roacher, and especially seems to like lying on her back up against walls... but will fall asleep just about anywhere. She is currently being treated for corks so she has not really run around a lot. However, she is a very "bouncy" girl who is ready to give you her affection. She is new to investigating toys, but is learning to play with them. She rides very well in the car and definitely knows when you are leaving the house as she gets excited hoping that she will get to go with you. She likes to be the first one out the door and the first one at your side so that she does not miss anything. She is very happy spending most of the day sleeping and usually positions herself where she can keep an eye on me. She is a bundle of happiness who wants to share it with a furever family!

INCOMING DOGS
Flash is an approximately 1 1/2-year-old brindle greyhound who is all puppy! Flash comes to GALT as an owner surrender, he is not tattooed so his age is estimated. He is an active boy who loves to play, play, play! Flash would do best as an only dog. Flash was briefly adopted, but did not do well as an apartment dog.
Frito is a 6-year-old red fawn male born in June 2006. He came to GALT from the Garland Animal Shelter where he was turned in as an owner surrender. Frito's litter number is double tattooed, so we will never know his pedigree or history.

If you have been considering fostering, or know someone who is considering fostering, now would be a great time to jump in! If anyone can help, even temporarily, please contact Jennifer Vilches at jennifer@vilches.org. Greys waiting on foster homes at BARK! and Top Paw Resort are Comanche, Dimple, Gumbo, Gabriel, Gus, Jet, Kiwi and Kyrie. Greys awaiting processing at Houn' House are Frito, Canyon, Stampede and Story.
