FEATURED GREYHOUND

Windy

Windy, aka Wind Blow By, is a 5 1/2 year old white female with black ticking born June 26, 2006. Her sire is Flying Penske and her dam is Little Modoe. Windy has 15 races at the Wonderland track to her credit on Greyhound-data.com. Her brief career started on April 29, 2008, ended on August 7, 2008, and included six wins. Windy is ready to blow into your home like a summer breeze! Windy is not cat tolerant, and she will be tested with smaller dogs at a later date.

Windy is a very sweet and super affectionate grey! She follows us all over the house and loves to lie at our feet so she can be available at all times for petting and loving. Within a few days, Windy was roaching on her back like a champ, as she absolutely loves her belly rubs! Windy is a smart girl who learned good house manners very quickly. She has learned to wait her turn for treats and respect the space of her foster sibs, Hondo and Julie. This gorgeous "polka dot girl" LOVES her walks, and she is easy on the leash - although she is very curious about other dogs that she meets on the street or in the park. If you are looking for a super-cuddly grey who will adore you unconditionally and follow you all over the house, Windy is the girl for you!

INCOMING DOGS

Warrior, aka C Ya War Chief, is a handsome 6½-year-old white & brindle male born July 5, 2005. His sire is Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Fuzzys Apache making his grandsire Wigwam Wag. Warrior has no races to his credit on Greyhound-data.com. He was adopted out by another adoption agency, but after getting out of the former adoptive home several times, the agency was notified and contacted GALT to take him into GALT's family. Warrior came to GALT heartworm positive but has successfully completed his treatment and is now heartworm negative! He is a sweet and very affectionate boy. Warrior is being treated for corns, and is responding well. He was briefly adopted, but the corns were interfering with plans to agility train him, so he's back and looking for a relaxed home where he can chill out and be a pet.

Beck is an untattooed white & red male found as a stray in Johnson County. He is believed to be between 3 and 4 years old. He arrived covered in ticks, and the results of his Protatek test for tick-borne diseases are pending. Thankfully he is negative to heartworms, but he is being treated for a low platelet count.

Katrina, aka Kiowa Happy Tina, is a 3-year-old black female born December 6, 2008. Her sire is Kay V Tatoo Tony and her dam is Kiowa Hail Happy. Katrina has 29 races to her credit on Trackinfo.com. She started at Orange Park, FL on May 24, 2010 and finished at Daytona Beach, FL on October 8, 2010. Her whearabouts since then are unknown until she was found as a stray in Fort Worth after the area tornados on April 3rd. A kind family took her in and turned her over to GALT when it became clear she was not displaced because of the storms, but had likely been on her own for a while. Katrina is covered in scabs and multiple open wounds, and she is very thin. Thankfully, she is heartworm negative! She is safe and will get the care she very much needs. Her Protatek results for tick-borne diseases are pending.

Raisin is an 8-month-old brindle female who weighs 25 lbs. She was found as a stray in Amarillo. Being so small at 8 months, she is likely a greyhound mix.
