Not familiar with the wine pull? This is a lottery where you have a 1 in 100 chance of winning a really nice bottle of wine. Purchase a cork for $20 at registration. Each cork has been given a number and once drawn, will be matched to the wine bottle bearing the same number. Will you get the most expense bottle or the cheapest? Only the cork knows!

GALT respectfully requests your presence at the...
11th Annual Greyt Gala & Auction
"FAITH, HOPE & CHARITY"
March 3, 2012 HILTON DALLAS IN SOUTHLAKE TOWN SQUARE 1400 Plaza Place, Southlake, TX 76092 Cocktails & Wine 6:00-7:00pm Gourmet Dinner 7:15 pm $125 for a single ticket purchase $100 per ticket (when two or more are purchased at the same time) For almost eleven years, the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas (GALT) has been not only the organization of choice for retired greyhounds requiring adoption services, but often the adoption organization of last resort for many injured, abused, and neglected Greyhounds.
GALT's mission of "No Grey Turned Away" has resulted in unconditional intake of greyhounds no matter what their medical needs are. For some of these greyhounds, the journey to a forever home comes relatively quickly, Many others require vast amounts of medical care to treat broken legs, heartworm infestation, tick borne blood diseases, the ravages of near starvation plus time to heal. As a result of this dedication, GALT saw its annual operating budget increase from about $280,000 in our fiscal year 2009-2010 to nearly $400,000 in our last fiscal year 2010 -2011 due to increased medical and rehabilitation costs for these sick and injured greyhounds
The monies raised from your ticket and auction purchases will provide the funds needed for GALT to continue to provide care and substance for the injured, sick, abused and neglected greyhounds.
Your FAITH in GALT, your never-ending HOPE that every Greyhound has a loving home, and your CHARITY at this event will make that possible.

MEND A BROKEN HEART WITH A CANDYGRAM! - Ends Feb. 29th!
With the large number of heartworm positive dogs GALT has received over the last few weeks, won't you consider brightening one (or more) lucky dog's Valentine's Day with a special Candygram and help mend a "broken heart"? A $10 donation will put a candy heart with your name or an "in honor of" on the dog's webpage for the rest of the month of February.
GALT has 15 dogs in its care being treated for heartworms - that's a record number! Angie, Blade, Carbon, Charity, Clooney, Cupcake, Dani, Harry, Jasper, Nutmeg, Onyx, Sophia, Stetson, Stewart and Timex could all use a little extra love this Valentine's Month. Give them a little piece of your heart here.

NORTH TEXAS IRISH FESTIVAL
 | Irish Uma |
The 30th Annual North Texas Irish Festival is March 2, 3 and 4th. It will be a busy weekend for GALT as it is the same weekend as the Greyt Gala, so we are looking for a few multitasking volunteers to bring their greys (and foster greys) to the GALT booth on the 3rd and 4th to talk to the public about the wonders of greyhounds as companion pets. Shifts will be from 11am to 1:30pm and 1:30pm to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday! You will have plenty of time to get home and change for the Gala on Saturday evening, so mark your calendars! Greyhounds and humans alike really enjoy this event - just ask Uma!
North Texas Irish Festival March 3 & 4th Fair Park - Centennial Hall www.ntif.org Contact susie.mcquade@gmail.com to volunteer - help is needed for the shifts on March 3 & March 4 as well as decorating on Friday afternoon, March 2 at 1:30pm! |

FEATURED GREYHOUND

Yogi, aka Sparring Partner, is a 2-year-old black male born January 2, 2010. His sire is Joe Hearns, and his dam is Mesa Onset. Yogi has no races to his credit on Greyhonud-data.com - he took early retirement! This handsome boy is ready to sneak into your heart. Yogi is being treated for corns, and is responding well.
Yogi is not cat tolerant.
Yogi is AWESOME! He gets along with all of my other dogs and is playing more and more with them. He absolutely loves toys and treats. Yogi is food motivated and should be easy to train - he is confident in new situations. He is a good boy who is happy going for a walk or car ride, zooming around the backyard, or just hanging out in the living room on a nice comfy dog bed. Yogi is usually pretty calm but will have his moments of absolute goofiness! He will be a wonderful addition to any family! -Yogi's foster mom

INCOMING DOGS
Amber aka LRC Adios Amber, is a 10-year-old red fawn female born November 28, 2001. Her sire is Gable Dodge and her dam is CY's Paula (GALT's Paula). Amber has a whopping 140 races to her credit on Greyhound-data.com, starting at Gulf Greyhound Park on July 15, 2003, moving to Derby Lane at the end of 2004, and finishing up in Tampa on July 20, 2005. Amber went on to have two litters of puppies. The first, on March 7, 2006 with Ben Awhile, resulted in one registered pup named LRC Bad Lil Girl who is now GALT's Millie. The second, on June 29, 2007 with Lonesome Cry, resulted in two registered males. Amber has been in a home since retiring from her busy career as a racer and a mother, and has sadly joined the GALT family due to owner illness along with Angela and Millie. Amber has not yet been tested with cats or small animals.
Millie, aka LRC Bad Lil Girl, is an almost 6-year-old red fawn female born March 7, 2006. Her sire is Ben Awhile and her dam is LRC Adios Amber (GALT's Amber). Millie has 21 races to her credit on Greyhound-data.com, all at the Naples-Ft. Myers track. She started on March 2, 2008 and raced her last race on June 5, 2008. Millie has been in a home since the end of her short career, but has been surrendered to GALT due to owner illness along with Amber and Angela. Pay no attention to her racing name - this little girl isn't bad at all! Millie is not cat tolerant.
Angela is a 4½-year-old dark brindle female born May 12, 2007. She was not individually registered, but her sire is Late Late Show and her dam is Mollie Sullivan. Angela never raced, as she had surgery on her right rear leg as a puppy. The muscle is atrophied, but she gets around just fine. Angela has been in a home for most of her years, but has been surrendered to GALT due to owner illness along with Amber and Millie. This pretty girl would love to meet you! Angela is cat trainable.
Wyatt is a 2 year old white and brindle male who wandered into a Venus, Texas middle school as a stray. Wyatt is double tattooed, so we do not know his history. He is suffering from a tail injury and several puncture wounds.
