Solo Fest 2008
More than forty flutists registered to participate in Solo Fest this year, which will be held March 15 in the music building of Saint Mary's School in downtown Raleigh. Coordinator Anne Dyke will contact all participants with the scheduled times and directions. We are proud of all these flutists who have taken up the challenge to prepare solos, etudes and scales for this annual spring event

Iceblink Art
RAFA member and UNC flute professor Brooks de Wetter-Smith realized a life-long dream when he traveled on a National Geographic ship to Antarctica in December 2006 to capture the continent's spectacular beauty in photography. Since that trip, Dr. Smith has been working with UNC composer Allen Anderson to create a visual and aural feast! Dr. Smith will perform this world premiere with the UNC Chamber Ensemble as 300 to 400 of his photos are shown on multiple screens. We suggest purchasing your ticket now because seating is limited!

*Please note that there is an open rehearsal at the museum on April 26. Pre-concert talk begins at 2:30 with rehearsal at 3 p.m. Admission: $5.
