Flute Lessons with Kate Steinbeck

RAFA member Kate Steinbeck, a flute performer and teacher from Asheville (NC), plans to travel to the Triangle four times a year to offer flute lessons. Kate's desire is to teach these lessons every three months to the same set of students in a group lesson format, which means everyone will be able to attend all of the other lessons  that day. She is willing to teach any level of player and can also teach ensembles if there is a group that wishes to split the cost of an hour lesson ($65).

The first set of quarterly lessons will be on the weekend of February 23 and 24, 2008. On Saturday, Feb. 23, Kate will be teaching in Raleigh at a home near Cameron Village. On Sunday, Feb. 24, Kate will be teaching another set of lessons in north Durham. Each individual lesson will be one hour long and can be scheduled between 1 to 6 p.m. either day.

To participate and schedule a lesson, contact Mary Auen at maryauen@juno.com.

Flute Fair 2007

with Jeanne Baxtresser....
a day to treasure!!
Be sure to check out the snapshots and article by Helen Spielman. Ms. Baxtresser's incredible musicianship and gracious spirit touched us all deeply. What a privilege it was for our local community to listen and learn from this master teacher and performer. The day's events included an exhibit hall with the latest instruments and gadgets, workshops for middle and high school students, and a dazzling gala concert featuring many of North Carolina's professional flutists.
