Be still, they say. Watch and listen. You are the result of the love of thousands. ~ Linda Hogan

What was said
to the rose
that made it open
was said to me here in my chest.
What was told the Cypress that made it strong and straight, what was
whispered the jasmine so it is what it is, whatever made
sugarcane sweet, whatever
was said to the inhabitants of the town of Chigil in
Turkestan that makes them so handsome, whatever lets the pomegranate flower blush
like a human face, that is
being said to me now. I blush. Whatever put eloquence in
language, that's happening here.
The great warehouse doors open; I fill with gratitude,
chewing a piece of sugarcane,
in love with the one to whomever that belongs!
~ Rumi

Dear Ones,
In a teleconference last night we were discussing the questions: whom or what do we serve? Where is our allegiance? I think this is one of the areas where this great paradigm shift we are in is now on the verge of fully blossoming. What is increasingly obvious to me, day to day, is that a big shift is happening with respect to our allegiance to old conditioning by family, church, culture, and patriarchal values. Consciousness is emerging such that many are in the process of shifting allegiance from old conditioned ideas, beliefs, values, rules, taboos, and mores because they are not working for us, not life-giving, and very limiting.
I see the shift happening is to serving the Truth of What Is, the Sacred, the Mystery--whatever we choose to call That which can't be named. The Truth of What Is beyond all conditioning is popping through the hard ground and dead leaves of a very long and dark winter in the history of human consciousness. Can we be the gardener and clear the deadness, mulch the soil, water it and protect it from the chomping activities of the conditioned, egoic mind that tries to nibble away at the Truth as it is budding or blossoming?
It seems apparent that once the shift to serve and live in Truth takes hold or deepens, we are no longer burdened by the need or compulsion to obey the old standards. Serving the Truth of What Is is beyond fulfilling and exceedingly generous to others and to ourselves. It invites and sustains an impeccability and an alignment that feels unfettered, kind, and full of grace. It brings peace as well as the imperative to shift into a more heart-centered and embodied Truth-full way of being and living. It also calls forth all of the remnants of old conditioning for us to see and meet so that energetic can transmute. Like the Princess and the Pea, we more quickly know when something is off, when we are hearing and feeling influence of the old voices of our conditioning. This is liberating such work. Spring is a time of clearing out our gardens of the dead remains of winter to make space for planting new things, as well as the emergence of what has already been seeded and waiting in the darkness to pop through now. Consider the questions: what do you serve? where is your allegiance? What old conditioning is still here? What is now blossoming in your garden?
