Dear Ones,
We are coming into the most archetypally power-full time of the year, with the longer, darker nights, the imminence of the Winter Solstice, Advent, Hanukkah, and the archetypal Birth of the Holy Child. As always, this is a time of intense energies and heightening emotions moving through each of us, our families, and the collective. This particular year seems to be a time when life in the world, in a human body, is pretty stressful. We are all affected by this and each other in ways we cannot know. What do we want our impact upon this field of consciousness to be?

De-construction is happening all around us and within us. The collective field is replete with fear, anxiety, grief, depression, chaos, unraveling, helplessness, and despair. There is also an increasingly deepening gratitude for the love we give and receive, for our beloveds, and for the Grace that is always here, even though not always apparent or felt in our moments of need. Consciousness is expanding and it doesn't always feel good to the ego. We are in the unknown here, the darkness that can be realized as luminous when we embrace it.

Deep listening, sitting in silence, meditation, prayer, and doing something creative are some of the best ways to meet the moment and be sustained when we feel afraid, anxious, helpless, hopeless, or when we don't know what else to do.

These extraordinary times are calling us to develop an extraordinary capacity to return to Center, Source, our Ground of Being. This is where we can find rest and nourishment, feel complete and quiet, no matter what is happening.

Have a Blessed Time of Endarkenment,
Sheila

Teleconference
 Two 90-MInute Sessions ~ November 23 & 30
Using Koans and Art Materials

We all made art as children, and did so joyously and un-selfconsciously. Many of us continued to enjoy art making until we went to art classes or had a teacher
where we were criticized for doing it 'wrong' or given a bad grade on our creation. We may have developed an internal judge who critiqued the joy out of creating. Many of us are sitting on dozens of creative eggs, longing for them to hatch, longing to give expression to the immeasurable creative
impulse within us. We are born to create, to be vessels of creation. So, what stops you?
If you feel blocked, fearful, 'not creative' or believe that your art is 'not good enough' you
probably have experienced trauma to the artist within. Your creative fire may have been squelched, or the muse may have been muted. This workshop can help you change that.
This is truly an art-making, creativity-cultivating teleconference! It is also a deep spiritual practice for bringing joy to your art making and spiritual awareness into your everyday life.

This call will be a guided meditation into deep listening, into the Heart of Hearts by way of the Samyama practice.  I was initiated into the practive of Samyama 17 years ago, and have used it daily ever since. It is a radically, life-changing practice, especially useful during difficult times.

Samyama is an amazing vehicle for being utterly present with one's own feelings and heart, for healing, for clarity, and for opening into nondual awareness, and going into  silence. Attention becomes focused and engaged with the Heart instead of the mind. It is a practice you can use anywhere, any time, to feel and be with what is, as it is. Once practiced at it, you do not have to sit in meditation to use it--it becomes a way of being in life, offers a paradigm shift from thinking to heart, and allows us immediate access to ourselves and to stillness.

Sacred Feminine Initiation:
An Archetypal Journey
       by Sheila Foster

This small book is the first written fruit from a 30 year journey that documents the first days of my own call and initiations into the Sacred Feminine Mysteries in the early 1980's. It includes dreams, Jungian psychology, kundalini awakening, the arising of the women's mystery school, and information about the archetypes of the Mother, the Amazon, the Lover, the Medial and the Queen.
I also discuss the process of initiation, longing, mythic perspective, the evolution of the mystery school, and this feminine path of spiritual awakening. The writing is a weaving of memoir with the learnings distilled from my time stewarding the Temenos Center and the Temple of the Sacred Feminine. 63 pages. $10
