Norman Rockwell Exhibition

An exhibition of work by the prolific American illustrator, Norman Rockwell, opens on Saturday, November 6 with a reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the gallery of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. The public is invited to enjoy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Make an evening out of it by getting tickets to the Salute to Veterans performance which begins at 7:30 p.m. (see article to the right for more information).

The exhibition runs from Saturday, November 6 through Saturday, November 20. The gallery is open for visitors from noon-5:30 p.m. The Center is closed Sundays and Mondays.

The suggested donation for entry to the gallery is $3, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Docents will be conducting free, family-friendly tours on three Saturdays: Nov. 6, 13, & 20 from noon-2 p.m.  The Center's gift shop will sell selected Norman Rockwell-themed gift items.

Salute to Veterans Performance
Saturday, Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m.

To celebrate Veteran's Day and the nostalgic exhibition of Rockwell's work, the Center for the Arts is teaming up with West Shore Community College (WSCC) for a Salute to Veterans performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m. after Saturday's reception.

The event features Dr. Rick Plummer, Director of Theater and Performing Arts at WSCC performing a portion of his one-man show, Byline Ernie Pyle: Live from the Front; and the Boogie Woogie Babies, a Grand Rapids-based musical trio performing swing-era songs.

Tickets for the performance, which is a benefit for the Center for the Arts, are $20 and available by calling the WSCC Box Office at: 843-5507. A 50% ticket discount is available for all veterans and WWII veterans will be admitted without charge.

Family Talent Wanted!

Family duos or groups are invited to perform at the Center's Family Talent Night Showcase on Saturday, November 27 from 6-8 p.m.

Those interested are asked to perform two or three selections (8 to 10 minutes).

The Family Talent Night Showcase is part of the second annual Center for the Arts Christmas Extravaganza being held Thanksgiving weekend at the Center.
