West Shore Art League's Annual Membership
Exhibition Showcases 22 Local Artists through June 26 at the Ludington Area
Center for the Arts
Pat Munsell's "Serenity" | Over 40 works of art by 22
area artists are on display through Saturday, June 26 in the gallery of the
Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
The exhibition is the annual membership show organized by the West Shore
Art League.
Many art mediums are represented including watercolor, acrylic, pastel, photography, ceramics, mixed media, and woodcarving and many of the works are for sale.
Each year at the show, the West Shore Art League's members select a piece of artwork that the League purchases and donates to Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan's public art collection.
This year's selection was Pat Munsell's painting, "Serenity," a watercolor and ink on rice paper. You can view Munsell's work, along with the rest of the exhibition at the Center for the Arts Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5:30 p.m.
In addition to its annual membership show, the West Shore Art League hosts the annual Fine Arts and Crafts Fair in Ludington City Park on July 4th weekend. It also offers "A Children's Summer Art Exploration" for selected young art students, as well as artists demonstrations, and awards scholarships for college bound art students. In recent years, it has worked with Memorial Medical Center
for West Michigan on the hospital's art acquisition program. The League was founded in 1967.
