Indoor Yard Sale at the Center

yard sale flyerLudington Area Center for the Arts is having an indoor yard sale to raise money to help pay for construction costs of the Center's new gift shop.
Organizers are seeking donations from the community of items to sell at this yard sale. Donated items may include, but are not limited to, furniture, household items, small appliances, objects d'art, collectibles, games, toys, books.

"We are encouraging the community and our Arts Council membership to look around in their closets, basements and garages for items that are ready for a new home," said Jane Carpenter, yard sale coordinator.

The sale will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 8 and from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, May 9. All items will be sold at 50% off on Sunday.

Items may be dropped off during regular Center business hours, 12-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 through Friday, May 7. People may also schedule an appointment to drop off items on those dates by calling the Center office 845-2787.

Every other Saturday - Kindermusik classes for the little ones.

Mon. 5/10 - Fashion Show, sponsored by AAUW (American Association of University Women). 7 p.m.

Fri. 5/14-Sun. 5/16 - 2nd Annual Birding Festival, sponsored by the Sable Dunes Audobon Society

Tues. 5/18 - Open MIC, Ludington Visiting Writers, 7 p.m.

Wedn. 5/19 - Hammered Dulcimer workshop, 2-4 p.m. offered through WSCC's Academy of Lifelong Learning.

Fri. 5/21-5/22 - Lakeside Community Players present two plays by Christopher Durang: "The Problem" and "For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls"

Mon. 5/24 (through Sat. 6/26) - West Shore Art League Membership Show, Opening reception. 6-8 p.m.

Fri. 5/28 - "Frida" film screening presented by the Third Coast Film Society. 7 p.m.

West Shore Eye Care Frame Show
to Benefit the Center for the Arts

Thursday, 5/13, 3 - 7 p.m.

You are invited to West Shore Eye Care's spring frame show featuring the exclusive and artistic Taxi/Casanova eyeglass frames. Each frame is hand painted with styles ranging from sleek metropolitan to quirky and whimsical.

As an added bonus, West Shore Eye Care will donate 10% of the Taxi frame sales to the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. 

Enjoy chocolates and some bubbly beverages while you browse for your new frames.  Special pricing and a drawing for free Maui Jim sunglasses during the show. Outside prescriptions welcome. Most insurance plans accepted.

available in the lot south of the Center at the southeast corner of Loomis and Harrison Streets.
Call to Artists

Applications for the 2010 Center for the Arts Christmas Extravaganza Juried Fine Arts/Crafts Show on Thanksgiving weekend are available.

The show is Friday, Nov. 26 and Saturday, Nov. 27.at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.  Booth spaces are $50; table spaces are $20. Application deadline is Sept. 1.

- Or stop in at the Center during business hours.
