Beginning Friday, January 29, Film Buffs, Movie Lovers, and Cinephiles Can Find a Home at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.

American TeenThe Center's newly formed Third Coast Film Society is offering a subscription series with edgy documentaries, film sleepers, and provocative classics screening the last Friday evening of each month.

The series begins on January 29 at 7 pm with the Sundance award-winning documentary, "American Teen."  This film will be followed by other award-winning Who the Bleep is Jackson Pollock?documentaries in February, March, and April; films about art and artists May through August; and foreign films September through December. 

Tickets for all 12 films in the series are available at a base subscription price of $60 per person ($5 per film).  Additional levels of $75, $100, or $125 are available to support the Whaledreamersseries (primarily the licensing of the films) and the operations of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.

    Tickets will also be available at each film screening at $7 per person.  Popcorn and beverages will be available for sale.

Under constructionIf you to stop into the Center in January, don't be surprised if our office area is messier than usual.  A crew of dedicated and talented volunteers is moving things around, ripping up carpet, scraping, cleaning, etc., etc., as we begin work on creating the Center's gift shop and new administrative offices.  The administrative offices will be finished first.  Look for the gift shop to be up and running in the late spring.

January 31st is New Deadline for
Online Photo Contest

You still have time to enter our 2nd annual online photo contest, co-sponsored by Todd and Brad Reed Photography. 

We've extended the deadline from December 20, 2009 to January 31, 2010 to allow as many people to enter. All proceeds from the entry fees benefit the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
      
Winners will be announced at the 2nd Annual Taste of Mason County on Friday, February 5 at the Center.
