Calling all Photographers - Amateur and Professionals Alike! Deadline to enter is December 20.
Todd and Brad Reed Photography is co-sponsoring our 2nd annual online photo contest. Photographers can enter three separate images for one $15 entry fee; they can enter as many images as they would like in quantities of three. All
photographic entries will be judged by Todd and Brad Reed in three
categories:
1) people (includes sports, portraits, and family photos); 2)
landscape/nature,
and 3) abstract. The Reeds' will select first, second, and third place
winners for each category as well as an overall grand prize winner for
the photograph that exhibits superior
artistry and technique. Winners will receive gift certificates
to Todd and Brad Reed Photography. All third place winners will receive
a $30 gift certificate, second place winners will receive a $50
certificate, and first place winners will
receive a $100 gift certificate. The grand prize winner will receive a
$200 gift certificate.
Todd and Brad Reed Photography will print,
matte, and frame a 14-inch print of the grand prize winning photo which
will be on display at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts for a
year. Above is last year's winning photo, "Upstream from Red Bridge" by Jeff Wickett. 100%
of the money raised through the entry fees benefits the operations and
programming of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. Winners
will be announced on New Year's Eve at 5 pm at Todd and Brad Reed's
gallery as part of downtown Ludington's "Light Up the Lake" promotion.
The gallery will have a slideshow of
all the entries and will serve light refreshments. "We were blown away last year by the quality of all of the images that were entered and the number of participants, especially for a first year event," said Brad Reed of Todd and Brad Reed Photography. "It was great helping to raise over $1,700 for the Ludington Area Arts Council last year. This year we hope to help the Arts Council double the amount of money raised. We have many more categories and more prizes to give away for the second annual online photo contest. Our general manager, Sarah Genson is doing all of the behind the scenes work on the contest and she has
poured her heart into this project since day one." |
