Artists Invited to Bite into the Art of the Apple at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts!

Artists are invited to submit a piece of artwork to auction off as part of the upcoming Apple Jam on October 17 and 18 at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA). Lynda Blankinship with still lifePhotographs, prints, paintings, drawings, sculptures, mixed media -- artworks of any medium will be accepted as long as they are apple-themed.  Area watercolor artist, Lynda Blankinship (left) has set up a still life with apples in LACA's gallery that artists can use as their subject if they wish.  Artists are welcome to come in and paint, draw, sculpt, or photograph the still life during a special studio time in the gallery between 3-5 pm on the days the Center is open, Tuesday through Saturday. Artists are responsible for bringing their own supplies and for clean up.  There is no fee to submit work for the apple art auction, but the number of pieces in the auction will be limited.  Submissions are due no later than 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13 at the LACA.   The artwork will be included in an "Art of the Apple" silent auction on Saturday, October 17 between 7-9 p.m, along with a wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres, and live music.  Proceeds from the art auction will be split 50-50% between the artist and the LACA.
