ASPARAGUS! STALKING THE AMERICAN LIFE
Film Screening

Asparagus the movie'Tis the season---for asparagus! And the Ludington Area Center for the Arts is showing a hip, funny, true movie about it.

Called "Asparagus! Stalking the American Life," and made by Hart native, Kirsten Kelly and Anne De Mare, it's showing this Saturday, June 6 at 3 pm at the Center.

Praised as "oddly brilliant!" by New York Magazine and called "A charmer!" by the Kansas City Star, the film is actually a documentary with a cast of local people from Oceana County.

For 30 years, Oceana has been the asparagus capital of the world. Now, in the movie, the residents and family farms take on the U.S. War on Drugs, free trade, and a fast-food nation, all to save their beloved "roots."

Organizers of Hart's Asparagus Festival, along with Mrs. Asparagus Mrs. Asparagus(right), will be on hand at the screening to promote the upcoming festival and to share their insights about the asparagus industry in Oceana County.

Admission to the film screening will be $5 to defray costs of the film screening license and to benefit the Center for the Arts.
Hours at the Center:

Tuesday-Saturday, 12-5:30
