Dr. Zinta ZOMMERS'98 Reflections from the Field

 | Dr. Zinta ZOMMERS'98
(daughter of former teacher Aija Zommers) was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to
study at the University of Oxford, where she recently received her Ph.D. in
Zoology.
On April 1, at a special presentation at the University of Toronto, Zinta spoke about the challenges of primate conservation and described
her research with chimpanzees in the Budongo Forest in the Albertine Rift area

The Alumnae Association welcomed its soon-to-be Class of 2011 at a breakfast on April 21. Kathryn BULEYCHUK Champion'82 welcomed the girls and spoke of the importance of the Branksome traditions and keeping in touch.

The Lasting Influence of Marie Hay

On April 6, alumnae and friends celebrated the life and times of Marie Hay.
"Mrs. Hay was one of a kind and Branksome was extremely lucky to have her. She was a unique character, an amazing spirit, a phenomenal teacher, and a loyal friend! The Marie Hay Memorial Fund
For 20 years, Marie taught mainly Canadian History and introduced students to the world beyond Branksome. Funds raised will be directed to supporting a guest speaker, possibly from an international destination to address students. Alumnae will be encouraged to attend the event. "Keep Well the Woodlot" event.

p.m. This school-wide event is for students of all ages, parents, faculty,
staff and alumnae. We will be sprucing up the woodlot by removing weeds and
