Guila's Free "Mini-Teaches"
Guila MuirEvery Monday, Guila will post a Twitter-sized lesson to pump up your training, facilitating, or presentation skills.

These mini-workshops invite you to ask those burning questions you've always wondered about. Recent lessons include hints for effective body language, hooks, and closures.

To receive these mini-teaches, join our dialogue by following Guila on Twitter or LIKING  Guila's Facebook page.
Prevent Overload

Research shows that stuffing more content into a training session does not produce more competencies. Instead, information overload produces confusion, anxiety, and boredom.

How to prevent information overload?

Remember, less is more.
Identify the most important pieces of content. Leave out the rest.

Use the 30-70 rule.
You should only spend 30% of class time delivering content. 70% of class time should be spent with students actively practicing and applying the information.

See instructional strategies to use during that 70%.
Watch Some Great Body Language!
Watch a few minutes of this speaker. What five effective speaking behaviors do you notice immediately? Is she doing anything that you feel is not effective?

Scribble down what you see and send me your list. I will publish our collective analysis in April's newsletter.
