Dental Salon dentist Dr. Sam Weisz is currently in Africa providing dental care to underserved communities. Dr. Weisz will return to Chicago and be back to seeing patients at Dental Salon towards the end of May.

You Ask, We Answer!

"I had a toothache but it doesn't hurt anymore and now I've been told I need a root canal... why?"

Toothaches can be deceptive. Sometimes a problem will be very apparent; in the form of throbbing and keeping you awake at night. Other times the problem is much more understated, such as hurting for a day and then fading away. While it may seem like it was just a false alarm, a toothache will likely be back with a vengeance! Your pain may lessen for many reasons; for instance if you are taking an antibiotic it may help get an infection under control and cause your pain to subside for a period of time. However, if you have been diagnosed with a root canal, the best thing to do is get it taken care of sooner rather than later. You never know when your pain will strike again. It might untimely such as during a vacation or important day at work.

Root canal therapy is not as scary as it sounds. Treatment is predictable and all of our dentists do everything they can to make sure that our patients are as comfortable as possible.
