| HGControl upgrade to Omnicon |
HGControl, while still functioning well on a number of Goss presses today, is becoming more and more difficult to support from a service, engineering, and parts standpoint. Rather than replacing one board at a time and continuing to experience problems with obsolete components, this upgrade replaces the obsolete 575 PLC controllers as well as the QNX PC.
It makes full use of today's computer technology, and is an open-architecture system able to be expanded for tomorrows technology advancements. The controls are retrofitted to the current control system scheme - Omnicon. The system is similar to the one on current presses in terms of hardware, console look and feel, and connectivity and will provide a path for future upgrade possibilities like DigiRail™ inking or folder additions. The new system provides full OEM backing for service and technical support, something that a third party supplier will not be able to offer.

| Paper Width Change - Dubuque Telegraph Herald |
|
Historic 1st Goss Metro Offset Press |
The Goss Metro press at the Telegraph Herald in Dubuque, Iowa was the first one ever sold and, even at forty-four years old, it is still in fine operating condition. When the Telegraph Herald decided to reduce the paper width from 50" to 44", it chose Goss International to modify the press.
According to Mike Gile, VP of Facilities and Production at the paper, "no one knows this press better than Goss International. They have the knowledge, the expertise and the commitment. On top of that, we recognized that the press has given us all those years of excellent performance. We're looking forward to a smooth transition to the narrower paper."
Work will be begin in the first quarter of 2009.

| Digital Inking for Quad/Graphics |
| Sunday Press retrofit |
One of the largest users of Goss Sunday web presses will be the first in the world to retrofit one of the gapless technology presses with the DigiRail digital inking system.
Quad/Graphics, the largest privately owned printing company in North America, will replace the open fountain ink delivery system on a Sunday 3000 press with the highly precise Goss digital inking technology in early 2009.
"We are excited about bringing a new competitive advantage to our customers," explains Tim Sands, vice president of press operations for Quad/Graphics. "Digital inking has the potential to improve presetting speed and accuracy, reduce start-up waste and simplify color control during operation."
