Im possibly looking for vocal tutors in dorking, epsom and sutton.

Festival4stars Talent Competition

Festival4stars discovers great talent whilst providing a positive experience for people of all ages to compete and perform.
Festival4stars, the UK singing/dancing talent competition that offers positive written advice to all competitors. It is open to all ages from 3 to 73 yrs. In 2009 Festival4stars will be re-visiting 11 regions of the U.K. incorporating, Scotland, England, Wales & Northern Ireland.
 
Anyone can enter Festival4stars, there are ten different sections reflecting various singing styles and include solo singing, songs from any musical & dance for solos, duos/trios and groups, as well as a NEW 'Star Group' section for choirs, drama groups and bands, which replaces 'That's Entertainment', so there's sure to be something to suit everyone.

International Song Writing Competition
 
Festival4starscontinues to run an International Song Writing Competition,open to anyone in the world. This is an email/postal entry and as in the talent competition, all entrants receive written feedback. There are 3 heats during the year and winning songs can be heard online. The Closing Date for the last heat is the 10th September 2009. All details are on the web site.

The standard is high and the judging positive and very open. All competitors receive brief written comments from 2  judges at the initial stages and perform in front of a full panel of professionals at the Regional Final Stage. Festival4stars aim, is to offer a positive experience to all competitors and opportunities to perform and achieve by working with some of the top professionals in their industry .
 
Teachers, Directors and other professionals are welcome at the event, as are family, friends and supporters. If your school has a show coming up, you are most welcome to promote it by bringing along your flyers on the day.
 
Festival4stars is not a charity but in 2009 the Festival4stars Foundation will continue to donate funds from each event  to a chosen charity.
 
Competitors should be prepared to spend the day with festival4stars in case they are chosen to go through to the Regional Final stage by the judges.] There is always plenty to watch in the Group Dance, Musical Group & Star Group sections.
 
Solo Singing & Solo Musical sections are all held in private audition rooms in front of two judges.
Competitors have a maximum of 2 minutes performance time, There is no need to adapt CD's as the steward in the room will fade the music out at 2 minutes. All Solo Singing & Solo Musical performers who win through to the Regional Final stage in their section will be able to sing for 3 minutes .
 
Solo dance is a minute and a half max. of any style of dance and may be held in a dance studio or function room but will be open to all visitors to watch on the day.
All duos/trios and group dance sections are maximum 3 mins any style and are open to all visitors to watch on the day.
 
 
At the end of each section the four finalists from each section are announced in no particular order. These results are announced by our MC in the main performance area. This is where all visitors and competitors spend the day and can enjoy all the performances.
 
Between 9.30a.m. & 3.45 p.m all duos/trios & group dance, musical group and Star Group sections take place in the main performance area and then the Finals are held there between 4 & 7p.m.
At the end, the winners who will be representing the regionat the National Finals, will be announced and presented with their awards.
 
All Competitors must be registered to enter and cannot just turn up on the day!
 
The sections are listed below & arrival on the day is at the following times:- If these change you will be informed and you should receive an email a day or so before the event with your groups exact performance times.

Competitors then receive the exact performance time and their judges sheets. All solo vocal competitors are asked to report to their audition room at least 15 minutes before their allocated time.
 
Family and friends are welcome on the day and may watch the competition in the main performance area and the solo dance if it is in another room. They may also go into the private auditions but only if the competitor wishes them to do so.
The entry charge for visitors for the whole day is £6, which includes a direct donation of 50p to the Childrens Foundation. A family ticket for up to 2 adults and 3 children is available at £18 and children under 3 yrs of age are free.
All children under the age of 16 yrs must be accompanied by supervising adults with no more than 4 children per adult. Parents will enjoy the day and frequently there are more adults than children with our groups, as grannies and aunts & uncles come along too!
All competitors have free entry throughout the day & all competitors & visitors will be given entry stickers on arrival and may come and go throughout the day.
 
Our Festival4stars professional photographers for 2009 will be in attendance at each event. They provide fantastic photos 9 x 6 size mounted for only £10 each. [£15 later on the web site] They can be taken away with you on the day and families, friends and  groups as well as individuals are all taken for the same price.

All competitors entering festival4stars are given written advice sheets from the judges which can be collected at the registration desk in the foyer following the announcement of winners for that section. These will only be sent out afterwards if you provide festival4stars with a stamp- addressed envelope on your arrival.
Winners who reach the Regional Finals in the afternoon will receive a brief comment from a spokesperson from the panel of judges following their performance. However, they will be judged by the whole panel. The judges each have one vote.
At the end of this Regional Final Stage ten overall winners will be announced, ONE ONLY from each section. These winners will go through to the National Finals later in the year. Please make sure that before you come along to compete, the following dates are available, so you can go on to represent your region at the festival4stars National Finals.

Weekend of 25th - 27th September for solo/duos/trios & Group dancers/Musical Group &  Star Group, in the Cayton Bay, Holiday Park in Yorkshire
Sunday 15th November for Solo Singing & Musical solo Finals and Awards Dinner 11 a.m. till late in the 5* Radisson SAS Hotel in Glasgow
 
We are delighted to announce that festival4stars will be used again as an events training ground in 2009 for students on the organisational, technical and marketing side. We are linked to Caledonia University in Glasgow.
 
When we receive group & solo entries through the stage/theatre/dance school then we always mention the schools in the programmes right through to the National Finals.
