Jim has received numerous requests for international speaking engagements, workshops and exhibits in Germany, Sweden and France. The Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography in Paris is working on an upcoming retrospective exhibit. Jim will be a featured speaker at the International Nature Photographers Festival in Arnhem, Netherlands in February.
In October, BBC Producer Neil Lucas spent several weeks at Ravenwood, Jim's home and studio, brainstorming new ideas. Earlier this year, Jim and Neil worked together on the epic natural-history series, Life, which features some of Jim's footage in the Plants program. Scenes from Touch the Sky Prairie and the Northwoods lakes of Minnesota near his home are included. The 11-part series,
a follow up to the BBC's ambitious Planet Earth, looks at the extraordinary ends to which animals and plants go in order to survive. Featuring epic spectacles, amazing TV firsts and examples of new wildlife behavior. Oprah Winfrey will narrate the North American version, which
will premiere in the US on the Discovery Channel in March of next year. The photo below shows a London orchestra, led by composer George Fenton, scoring music for the program while viewing Jim's footage.
