THE OUTER LIMITS OF TRAVEL
Charting Diana Cloud's Journey Toward the Stars
What's next for a woman who's traveled every corner
of the world? How about traveling three times the
speed of sound to leave Earth's atmosphere - if only
for a few moments - and experiencing the silence and
weightlessness of space?
Diana Cloud is officially registered in Voyager seat
#39 on Virgin Galactic's sub orbital space flight.
Scheduled to commence flights in early 2009, Diana
will be among the first 500 humans to have ventured
360,000 feet beyond Earth's boundary.
The sudden rush of adrenaline that comes from
pulling multiple g's is certainly no stranger to Diana.
She's already flown over Cape Town at a climb of
50,000 ft per minute in the English Electric Lightning
interceptor jet and plans to experience the Zero G
Weightless Flight in Las Vegas this summer. So what
inspires her to go to such extremes?
"I have no doubt that this is going to change my life."
Diana touches on the personal and global thoughts
running through her mind in anticipation of her epic
journey.
"We have to change the way we live," she
continues. "When enough people gain perspective on
Earth from afar, we will appreciate more and more that
it is a living, breathing entity and we have to start
taking
care of it. It's such a gift that I'll be able to experience
this, and I really want to share what I learn with people
when I return."
Currently authoring a book on 'core truths' due to be
released next summer, Diana does have some
practical advice for others with an appetite for
adventure. "I already know that proper hydration is
going to be essential to the Virgin Galactic flight - it's
true anytime you put your body through extreme
conditions."
"Whether it's a safari experience, a remote climb, g
forces or high altitude, you need to replace your body's
electrolytes in addition to drinking water. I learned this
after breathing pure oxygen for three hours on the
fighter jet experience, and it's made a huge difference
in the positive outcomes of my activities since then."

| EARTH FRIENDLY NEWS: Mala Mala and Delta's Carbon Offsets |
| |
Mala Mala Featured on Good Morning America
Last month ABC News commemorated Earth Day by
reporting on crucial environmental issues facing our
planet including water, deforestation, extinction of
species and power.
Mala Mala, one of ATG's most highly recommended
safari camps and featured property in this summer's
Family Safari, was profiled in a segment reported by
Elizabeth Varga as an example of solutions that are
currently being implemented across the globe. As
world leaders in conservation and preservation of
resources, the eco-lodges near the Kruger wildlife
area in Southern Africa have shown how species can
be brought back from the edge of extinction.

Mala and learn more about the ecology of safari in
Southern Africa.
Delta to Offer Carbon Offset Program
Delta Air Lines Inc. has joined with environmental
organization The Conservation Fund to become the
first U.S. airline to let customers buy carbon offsets to
counteract emissions from air travel.
Starting June 1, customers who buy a ticket online at
delta.com can make a donation to The Conservation
Fund. Contributions of $5.50 for a domestic roundtrip
flight and $11 for an international roundtrip flight will
be used by The Conservation Fund to plant trees in
the United States and abroad. The newly planted
forests will help to absorb carbon dioxide, filter water,
restore wildlife habitat and enhance public recreation
areas.

Study shows Americans need More Information
about Changes in Passport Rules
Recent surveys reveal that most Americans are not
fully informed about the new passport regulation
changes under the Western Hemisphere Travel
Initiative. As of January 23, 2007, ALL persons,
including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the
United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South
America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda have been
required to present a valid passport.
As of January 1, 2008, ALL persons, including U.S.
citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada,
Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean,
and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), may
be required to present a valid passport or other
documents as determined by the Department of
Homeland Security. While recent legislative changes
permit a later deadline, the Departments of State and
Homeland Security are working to meet all
requirements as soon as possible. Ample advance
notice will be provided to enable the public to obtain
passports or passport cards for land/sea entries.
The passport requirement does NOT apply to U.S.
citizens traveling to or returning directly from a U.S.
territory. U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S.
territory are not considered to have left the United
States and do not need to present a passport. U.S.
territories include the following: Guam, Puerto Rico,
the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains
Island, and the Commonwealth of the Northern
Mariana Islands.
Due to overwhelming demand, travelers should
expect a processing time of six weeks, with
the option to expedite service in two weeks or privately
in only a matter of days.
Electronic Passports
The Department of State has also proposed the
upcoming release of a U.S. Electronic Passport. It is
the same as a regular passport with the addition of a
small contactless computer chip embedded in the
back cover. The chip will securely store the same data
visually displayed on the photo page of the passport,
and will additionally include a digital photograph. The
inclusion of the digital photograph will enable
biometric comparison, through the use of facial
recognition technology at international borders. The
U.S. "e-passport" will also have a new look,
incorporating additional anti-fraud and security
features.
Current paper passports, without chips, will still be
valid for the full extent of their validity period.
Passport Cards
The Department of Homeland Security is developing a
limited-use passport called a Passport Card for land
and sea travel between the U. S and Canada, Mexico,
the Caribbean and Bermuda. Your wallet will like this
smaller, credit card-sized alternative better with lower
fees of only $10 for children and $20 for adults with a
$25 execution fee.
Stay abreast of changes in passport requirements
with the U.S. Dept. of State website.
