Greetings!
A week ago we sent out a customer survey. We received over 700 responses. We learned a lot and will certainly take the suggestions to heart. It will take a little time to analyze all of the responses. We'll publish a report when we finish. We'll hope to get your opinion next time around.
I'm working hard on rewriting the Golf Lab website. It won't be long before that's ready for your review.
This edition of "Members Only" includes some incentives that we hope will motivate you to come in or call. It is a discount coupon for $50 off of a purchase of $200, $125 on $500 or $250 on $1000. You'll find it at the end of this newsletter. There's a gift certificate there as well.
We've put together some offers that you will find attractive at full price and I hope irresistible with the discount.
If you live nearby and want to update your fitting to make sure you get the right shaft with the clubs you choose, just give us a call and we'll set some time aside. Update fittings are always just half price.
The Gift Certificate is something special. It is for a complete "Introductory Fitting". We're hoping that you will use it to introduce one of your playing partners to the Golf Lab. It is worth a full hour of our total attention. Our normal charge for that service is $125. We will make you proud that you did your friend a favor.
One of our goals is to do a much better job for customers who are pressed for time and want to call their orders in. If you've had a recent fitting, we are now keeping copies of all of your records. We can match the fit easily.

Adams Drivers Coming Out Party in 2009
We think Adams drivers are the most underrated in the world. Some will surely become classics. We have the original Speedline drivers for $199. If you want one of the newest 2010 model the 9032 LS, we've got it for $299. It comes with a good pedigree. It was Jamie Sadlowski's choice to win this year's World Long Drive Championship.
Adams has a little problem with its drivers. They still make them too long and the heads are too light. Our price includes cutting the length down to a reasonable 44.5" (or 45" if you insist). We'll also add lead tape to bring it up to the swingweight that you favor. No extra charge to make it playable.
The New One
If you can't stand the idea of lead tape on your new driver, let us remove the head and SST PURE ™ the shaft. While we have the head off we can add weight to the head so it won't show. That extra work - plus the SST royalty - will add $65 to the price. But, it's not that high for you because you have a $50 discount coming.

Adams 9015D
Every year there's a consensus "best of breed" driver. A few years back, Taylor Made won that contest all the time. This year, the sweepstakes winner is likely to be the Adams 9015D driver. It is an ultra low spin head. It comes stock with a Matrix Ozik shaft (one of those "kinda" OZIKS we're sorry to say). For most players, the 10.5* head is about as low a loft as you want but we have some 9.5's. We're selling out our stock on hand, set to the length and flex you want for $250 set up with the stock shaft.

But why buy such a good driver with an ordinary shaft? Set your 9015D up with a Fujikura Speeder or Mitsubishi Blueboard or Redboard. We have a nice stock of those $300 shafts that we've saved from other drivers. A "pullout" of a premium shaft sells for half price. Put that $300 Blueboard in your Adams 9015d driver for just another $150. We'll even give you $50 credit for the OZIK you're not taking. The whole deal is $350. That driver would have sold for $650 a year ago. Remember, your discount is good so it's only $300.

Adams Tour Prototype Drivers
There are a lot of "Tour Issue" drivers around. Most are just used drivers that the professional rejected. We have a few of the "real thing" - straight from the Adams Tour Shop. In my view, there's not a nicer driver head available. It's got a deep square face and adjustable weights - the "dual can" model to distinguish it from the consumer version - 4250. If we can find a fit with one of these, you'll probably keep this driver for the rest of your life. Call for price.

Adams Pro Black Tour Hybrid
We got a few of the newest Adams hybrids from the Tour department. This is the tiny one that is just coming out on Tour. Ricky Barnes was photographed playing one just last week. There aren't many of these around. If we were Bombsquad golf, we'd be asking $500 each for these - and then you'd have to buy the shaft.
We'll set your new hybrid up with an ACCRA Dymatch, Aerotech Steel Fiber or Mitsubishi Javlin shaft for just $250. If you can't get to the Golf Lab to test the shafts, give us a call and we'll work it out over the phone. Remember, that price doesn't include your "friends and family" discount.

Fujikura is Back
Fujikura used to be the King. Then Mitsubishi, ACCRA and OBAN came along. Fujikura lost its title to the upstarts. It's been a long time since Fujikura topped the charts even though they continue to win the shaft count on Tour.
There are a couple of new Fujikura shafts out. They released the Motore F1 earlier this year. It was billed as a high performance shaft - stiff in the butt and tip, kind of like the old Speeder profile.
Then some variations came out. Our favorite was the "Tour Motore F1". It was much softer in the butt. I played it the second half of the summer and felt it was the most accurate shaft that I had ever used.
Now, there's yet another Motore model - this one bringing back the venerable "Speeder" name. The "Motore Speeder". It's a red shaft with understated graphics. Only a few players have had a chance to try it so far but it's bringing in great reviews.
As our thank you for responding to the survey, we'll invite you to take a handful of Motore's and the Motore Speeder to the range after we've updated your driver fitting to make sure we give you the correct shafts to test. Normally, that would be a $95 charge. Use your $50 discount coupon to be the first in your group to test the complete line of Fujikura Motore shafts.
We're working with Fujikura to get some of the new Motore Speeders into circulation. The MSRP is $350. We have a few that we can sell for $250 - and that doesn't include your $50 discount. Not bad, a brand new $350 shaft for $200. The price includes installation.

Buy the Heads, the Shafts are Free
We ran this promotion for the Sidewalk sale and had several customers take us up on the deal. As a "thank you" for the customers who responded to the survey, we're throwing a couple of really, really good sets of heads into the mix. You certainly wouldn't expect to see a set of Adams Pro Gold iron heads free - but here's a set. There is just a little more wear on the faces than we would feel confident about selling them as "excellent" condition. In excellent condition, matched up with high performance Aerotech or Nippon shafts we would be asking $135 per club. Snap up this set for just the price of the shafts: $85 per club. We only have one.
Another great set is some very nice Mizuno MP-60's. Once again, the condition is just a little bit less than we'd feel comfortable selling for $135 per club so we're going to let this set go for just $85 per club. One only.
If those don't appeal to you, here are pictures of other "free" heads that are in the deal. If you're looking for "game improvement" you can't do better than the Tommy Armour 845 U's. If you want a beautiful set of like new forged heads, take the Walter Hagens - either set for $85 per club. Two sets of Hagens sold on eBay last week and they brought $150 and $200 - for heads only. Don't overlook the "Alameda Specials" - the Baliwicks from the Hoffman foundry. These won't last forever. If you're thinking about a very nice set of irons - customized and decked out for the price of a set of shafts - this is your chance.
This is a good representation of the heads that we've got in our "heads are free" program. If you come by the Golf Lab, we'll give you another dozen to choose from. |

Just as Good as Scotty Cameron?
I ran across a custom clubmaker who had the great idea that he would commission his own putters and wedges and establish his own name brand. Alas, he came up about ten million dollars short of just getting started. When he bailed out, there were some very interesting leftovers.
One was this very nice, completely hand milled putter that was produced by one of the best craftsmen in the business. It has the name brand that didn't quite become famous - "Kokopeli" - wouldn't you know the clubmaker was from Arizona?
We'll set one of these up for you for just $75 - steel shaft and very nice grip. If you would like one of the UST "Frequency Filtered" shafts to make this putter something really special, that will only add $50 to the deal. Remember, those prices are before discounts.
We don't think that you'll find a nicer milled putter than this one. If you're not sure, that's no problem, stop by the Golf Lab and pick one up for a tryout.

Vega Wedges
There's an argument that Vega is making one of the very best wedge lines in the world. It's a soft forging from the Kyoei foundry. If you want to see a very interesting video that covers the manufacturing process for forged irons, go to the Vega USA website: www.vegagolfusa.com.
Vega wedges are usually priced to sell for $165 and up. We'll set up yours for a very reasonable $125. Imagine a legitimate forged Vega wedge for a couple of bucks more than a mass produced Vokey, Cleveland or Mizuno. That includes your choice of Rifle "spinner" or satin Project X shafts. If you want to shoot the moon and set your Vega wedges up with the super premium Aerotech Steel Fiber 125 shafts, we'll do that for an extra $50 per club. Remember, those prices are before your discount.
We have chosen the "raw" black finish that is both beautiful and unique. The skill of the grinder is evident. There is only one chance to leave the "signature". |

You always wanted Miura Irons
We have two sets of Miura 301's, a set of 201's, a set of Tournament Blades and a set of 201's - all lightly used.
After one week in your bag, you won't remember these irons weren't brand new. A decked out set of new Miuras costs $1600. We're making it possible for you to buy yourself a very nice Christmas present, just in case no one else remembers you. Our special price for the "used" Miuras is $1200 per set. That includes the shaft of your choice set up to your custom specifications. And your discount is good so your new, custom Miuras will cost you less than $1000.
There has been some questions about the difference between the original Tournament Blade and the new model. The main difference is the graphics. Miura has adopted a new logo that is more contemporary. We think that the sole grind on the new model is just a bit more forgiving.
And if you're ready for the latest Miura model, it's coming in December. It will be known as the 501.
We have a couple of sets reserved. The price is $1600 fully decked out for a set of 8. Your discount coupon is good for the new products as well.
If you've been thinking about a set of Miuras, this is a good time to make your decison. |

Time for "Tweaking"
Sometimes I think we must have exhausted all of our customers with our exhortations about the virtue of counterweights. If you haven't been in to the Golf Lab for your free counterweight test - what's the matter? You'll hit the ball farther and straighter. What IS the matter with that?
Now, we've got the newest and latest twist in the counterweighting saga. The new Tour Lock weights are positioned down in the shaft, below a player's lower hand. They work better than the originals. So, if you already have counterweights installed, but they're not the newest version, our offer of a "free fitting" is still good. If we add the extra weight to the one you already have in your clubs, it will only be $12 per club. What is one more birdie per round worth?

Visit the Golf Lab this Season
It's impossible to put all of the very cool clubs we have in that store in an email. Long time customers know that we specialize in one-of-a-kind and "tweaked" clubs. Our goal is your best fit. Plan on setting time aside this holiday season for a visit if you can.
