Greetings!

Eric Jones at the Golf Lab

Mark your calendar for this Saturday, the 13th. Eric Jones will be returning to the Golf Lab for our Sidewalk Sale - and to renew contacts with his old students. Eric will be here from 11 until 2 PM. If you want to reserve a fifteen minute time slot for a brief "swing analysis" call the Golf Lab and we'll schedule it for you. Eric is looking forward to reconnecting with his old students and friends. No charge. 650-493-1770.

If you haven't taken advantage of our free club balancing offer, you can schedule a convenient time for that with the same call.

We don't see Eric around the Golf Lab much any more - he lives a little too far away in Walnut Creek and his teaching practice has exploded in Pleasanton. Eric has been very busy. He completed his Master's degree in sports psychology with a focus on golf. He also completed his PGA certification - so he's now a card-carrying PGA Professional.

Eric is planning a series of e-books. His first one is almost ready to go - it's about how to hit the ball a million miles. If you'd like to get a preview of the draft - email back and we'll send you a link. We'll keep you posted on the final publication date.

Bob Huff will also be here to meet up with his old customers.

Now on to Sidewalk Sale business.

The first thirty customers can buy a box of Titleist ProV's or Bridgestone 330's for $29. Limit one per customer while supplies last.

We have some "Friends and Family" specials. Every customer who comes to the Sidewalk Sale on Saturday will receive the following: You might be able to spice up that Christmas stocking!!

A Gift Certificate for a "Complete Club Fitting" for a junior golfer. Free offer. We have always worked with junior golfers at reduced prices - and we've built up a great following of top-flight AJGA junior players. If you know a junior who could use some help and advice about his or her clubs, give them the certificate and introduce them to the Golf Lab. Value: $245. We make sure that juniors can buy their clubs for very fair prices.

A Gift Certificate for a "Complete Driver Fitting" for a female golfer. Free offer. More and more women are becoming serious about their golf games. It still takes a lot of self confidence to step into a custom shop for a fitting. Help one of your friends step up to the next level. Value: $125.

A Gift Certificate for a "Complete Club Fitting" for an adult golfer - half price offer. You can use this certificate yourself or, if you've already had a recent fitting, you can pass it on to a friend. $245 value for $125.

A Gift Certificate for a "Balance your Clubs" fitting. Free offer. Testing and balancing driver and irons with a combination of Balance-Certified and Tour Lock counterweights. Add ball speed and improve consistency. Value: $50.

 Reshafting Options and "Cool Clubs"

The new KB Tour Shaft has taken the PGA Tour by storm (or at least by cloudburst). Last weekend, Phil Mickelson became the latest convert - playing the new shafts in the Skins Game. Ernie Els is reported to be the next disciple of the creator, Kim Braley (KB).

Raw KB Tour shafts have been selling for up to $400 per set on eBay. For players who book their KB Tour reshaft on Satuday, we'll do the job complete for $49 per club including a standard Golf Pride grip. If you want to upgrade that offer, we have three sets of the limited edition KB Tour "Black" shafts. You can have those, installed, for just $59 per club.

Speaking of "Black" - there's no better looking color combination for irons than the MacGregor black forged irons set up with the KB Tour Black shafts. We have one set made up and ready to go, half an inch over length. If you need them shortened, we'll do that for no charge. $599 is a giveaway price for a great set of irons.

More "Black" - Don White is the heart and soul of MacGregor. He was Jack Nicklaus' custom grinder. This year, MacGregor put out a line of "DW" wedges. They come in black finish. Shafted up with the KB Tour black shafts you've got an intimidating weapon for your next round. Giveaway price: $99 while they last.

More MacGregor: Brand new lob wedges: $79. Last year's high tech NVG2 irons: Steel shafts: $199. Last year this set sold for $799. All other MacGregor models at similar prices.

More shafts: We have large stock of very high quality pullouts. These are Fujikura Speeders and Mitsubishi Diamanas. Some are a little short for drivers but fabulous for fairway metals. Do your fairway game a favor. Install a Speeder 652 or 757 for just $90. Many other options available including the entire Matrix Code and Altus lines.

"Tour Issue" and High Performance Clubs

We have a couple of fabulous drivers. One is a Bombsquad.com SuperQuad, TM and Tour serial number. This one is set up with a Matrix Code 6 shaft. It originally sold for $1500. You can have this one for $599. We'll even change the shaft to an equivalent value for no extra charge.

We've got one very special Adams "Deep Face" prototype driver. This is the Tour Only version that looks like the 4350 but has two weight screws. Absoutely mint. We'll shaft it with your choice of top end shafts for $499.

If you're a high spin player, we've got two great drivers. The Adams 9015 d has been our top performer this season. Spin comes out about 1000 RPM lower for the average player. $369. Or, you can choose the Nike SUMO "Tour" version - another very limited production driver that has the center of gravity moved forward to cut down on spin. $600 at the beginning of the year. On Saturday: $399. It comes with a $300 Blueboard shaft or another premium shaft of your choice.

There are also a few good fairway metals and Adams "Tour Only" hybrids in stock. We can't really list them all but if you make a trip, you won't be disappointed.

Irons: Two sets of the Adams "Tour Only" Idea Pro forged. One set is "Smoke" the other is "Satin". We'll set them up on KB Tour shafts for $899 per set. You'll never see a cooler set of irons than the Smoke Idea Pros with KB Tour Black shafts.

If you're looking for a bargain, we have several sets of very lightly used irons from last season. They include Bridgestone J-33's and 36's, Tour Stage Z-101's, Nike Blades and a few sets of Japanese Bridgestones. Set to your specs, shafted with KB Tours or Nippon 950's: $499. That's a great way to get an up to date set of clubs with the best steel shafts on the market for a very good price. Why not? The recession is on.

 Nickent

One of the real winners this season has been the Nickent Evolver driver. It is the only interchangeable shaft system that makes sense to us. The main reason is that Nickent makes the adapters available so you can use shafts that you already have. There's no need to buy them from the company where the selection is limited and the price is high. We can set any shaft that you own up to work with the Nickent head for $40. You can even get your shafts SST PUREd. It's the best deal going.

The Nickent Evolver driver head will be on special this weekend for $250. Shafts are priced separately but you might take advantage of our extensive collection of pullouts. They're all good as new and available at half price.

We also have all of the Nickent irons in stock.

 Nike, Adams and Mizuno

Nike Sumo 5900 Square - $199. This was our best driver this year for players looking for accuracy. It is a fabulous bargain at this price. We will match up the right shaft flex and trim to the right length for no extra charge. If you only plan to buy one more driver this year, this should be the one.

All other Nike drivers, fairways and irons on sale at the new "net down" prices.

We have complete stocks of Nike fairway woods and utilities. If we happen not to have the exact combination that you're looking for, we'll order it and honor the sale price.

We also have the new Nike VR "Red" forged irons. This is the flagship iron for Nike this year. Said to have been designed with a lot of input from Tiger Woods. Take a close look at them, it is really a great set of irons. $899 MAP price.

Adams Irons - all models in stock as "heads only" ready to be fitted with the shaft of your choice. There's no reason to take a chance with an off-the- rack set when you can get your irons custom built for about the same price.

Mizuno Irons - we have a couple of sets of MX- 25's, one very lightly used and one that was custom ordered for a customer and never picked up. We also have a short set of MP-57's and a very lightly used set of MP-57's. If you're thinking about Mizuno for Christmas, this is a good time to visit the Golf Lab.

 Scratch Wedges

We have a very nice stock of Scratch wedges. All of our slightly used demos are $119. If you want a brand new Scratch wedge, set up with the shaft of your choice, we'll provide an SST PUREd KB Tour, Aerotech Steel Fiber 125, Project X or SK Fiber Graphite for $179. That's the price of "pure vanilla". Savings up to $75.

 De La Cruz Wedges

Dick De La Cruze got famous as the original designer at Callaway. Later on, he formed his own company - with his own name on the door. Alas, it didn't last too long but left a legacy. We have a limited stock of his wedges: 52, 56 and 60 degrees. They have a unique sole design with a sharp leading edge and flat sole but with enough bounce to work well in sand. These are a classic. Set of three set up with your shaft of choice: $279. They were $199 each when introduced.

 Feel Wedges

We have some brand new Feel pitching wedges. Feel had a "honeymoon" on the PGA Tour a few years ago and then fell under the radar. You can have a lot of fun with a Feel wedge, shafted with a Project X shaft - just to see what something different feels like. $59.

You get the idea. We've got a lot of very good inventory and we'd frankly like to sell a big part of it before the first of the year. If you can't make it by this Saturday, we'll be open all week from 10 until 6 and next Saturday. No fitting appointments next Saturday so drop-ins will get our personal attention.

If we don't see you, have a great Holiday Season.
