Shaft Test 2008
 

Following up on the incredible success of our "Donate Your Swing to Science" program in which we offered fittings for Tour Lock counterweights and the Balance- Certified Shaft Stabilizer, we are providing our "Members Only" with an opportunity to find the very best shaft for their driver. The test is free to the participant.



We will begin by measuring and testing your driver for length, flex and swingweight. We will then test your swing with your driver on our Achiever launch monitor. The Achiever will provide a benchmark of performance with your own driver. As an added bonus, we will test your driver with the Balance-Certified Shaft Stabilizer. You will probably find an increase in ball speed of 2-4 MPH - an easy club less into every green.

The second step is testing with the Max Out Golf Labs Shaft Max to find the correct shaft weight, length, flex and bend profile. The Golf Lab is one of only six custom golf shops in the USA that has a Shaft Max. The Shaft Max measures acceleration and shaft load. It is much better to fit shafts by understanding what happens to the shaft when a player swings the club. Shaft fitting by swing speed alone is unreliable.

Then, utilizing a Nickent Evolver driver with the correct loft we will swap shafts and record the results on our Achiever. If a new shaft produces better results, we will know which one and how much. Have you always suspected that an inexpensive shaft performs as well as a premium shaft? We will find that out. You will compare $100 shafts to $300 shafts.



A final test will be to check ball speed, launch angle and spin rate with our Max Out Golf Labs launch monitor. The Launch Max utilizes high speed photography to catch the ball in flight. The software optimizes launch angle and spin rate for your ball speed. If your drives spin too much or not enough, or if your trajectory is too high or too low, you will know the exact cost in distance lost.

Your launch ballistics will be used to provide a ball recommendation.

This is a unique opportunity for Golf Lab Members Only to experience a Golf Lab fitting for no charge. Once we gain experience with the Nickent Evolver driver in our fitting system, we will incorporate it into our standard driver fittings at our normal driver fitting fee of $125.
