Driver Fitting, Set Gapping, Club Comparison
Radar is unique in its capabilities for club fitting.
Radars track the entire flight of the ball - the speed,
the spin and the trajectory. A key fitting factor to
maximize carry and roll is your "angle of descent". The
only way to track angle of descent is with radar.
How far do you hit each club in your bag? With radar-
based launch monitors, you can "gap" your set
precisely. Radar is the most efficient method to reveal
your exact distance with every club. It is a great
investment in your game to gap your clubs with radar -
you will know your distances - precisely.
Which club is the best performer for you? Testing
indoors, we focus on ball speed and consistent spin
and trajectory to determine performance. Outdoors,
we take a different view. We can compare the
performance of your clubs for accuracy and
consistency - distance, trajectory and spin included.
Advanced software completes the analysis. There is
no better way to compare the performance of golf
clubs than combining detailed, scientific indoor fitting
with outdoor, radar-based analysis.
The next-generation radars are unique because they
can "see" the golf club. As that capability becomes
well known, you are sure to hear more about radar as
a swing analysis and training tool. But that's a subject
for another day. Check your calendar for December
1st and 2nd and meet us at Poppy Ridge.

High Performance Driver Fitting
Once you know how your driver is performing you
need access to high performance test clubs. What
good is testing drivers if you only have one brand to
try? Comparing multiple brands side by side is the
best method. At the Golf Lab, we only care about
performance, not brand names. Brand names?
We've got them all.
For the Shootout, we have a fabulous array of high
performance drivers available for testing. If you are
looking for a driver that performs better than the one
you already own, you will find plenty of candidates at
the Shootout.
We have Taylormade Burner TP's - supposedly
the "hottest head" of the season shafted with the best
high performance shafts on the planet: the Matrix
XCON 5, Fujikura Rombax and the 'Whup-un" shaft -
the winner at the recent World Long Drive
Championships.
If you think that the Callaway FT-i is the one, you can
test it with the stock Speeder shaft at the Shootout.
We have a selection of Nickent, Adams, Nike, SMT,
Alpha and KZG heads shafted with every high
performance shaft that we can think of. If you've been
wondering how a certain shaft performs for you -
you'll wonder no longer - you'll know because you hit
it. If you've been wondering what head fits your eye -
you'll wonder no longer because you hit it. You'll also
know which one performs the best because the
Trackman and the Kudu will tell you.
This is not random testing. Once we measure the
performance of your current driver, we will hand you
alternatives that maximize performance with higher or
lower trajectory, more or less spin - and more ball
speed. No speculation or opinion - you know for
sure. No time is wasted hitting clubs that can't fit.
The Golf Lab is recognized by Fujikura, Matrix,
Mitsubishi, Accra, Nippon, Stulz and True Temper as
one of the top shaft specialists in the USA. Only at the
Shootout will you have a complete array of high
performance shafts to test.
By the way, you'll be hitting complete clubs. We don't
think that screwing a shaft on a head reveals the true
feel and performance of a driver.
