Communications Team Leader Needed - Now!
The Boston Chapter has been keeping members informed through regular newsletter and other electronic mailings as well as the website, which also serves as an introduction of the Chapter to potential members and others in the community. These activities do not happen without volunteer effort. We could use helpers to support these activities in the coming year.
We especially need to staff the position of Communications Chair. The Chair position coordinates all communications activities, including the newsletter, website, and media and community relations. While talented volunteers are in place to do the production work, the Chair position helps to align strategies with other volunteer groups; assure consistency, accuracy, and thoroughness in all internal communications; and coordinate external communications efforts with local media and other community groups.
What skills and experience are needed to conduct this important activity?
- Understanding of the Chapter's mission, goals, and activities
- Ability to communicate clearly
- High standards for accuracy and thoroughness in Chapter communications vehicles
- Desire to see the Chapter succeed and continue to meet the needs of our members
