Important Handicap Note
Some members are experiencing problems logging into EWGA.com to post a score. If you receive the message 'Skip and renew later', just click it to gain access to GN21 for posting.
If you have renewed your membership, the renewal is logged in the EWGA database, so your membership is current and active. Headquarters is trying to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. |

Everyone's a Winner!
Timmermans-Zick Award
And the winner is... Jackie Corcoran, who was presented the award at Kickoff. In a message to our Board, Jackie thanked the Chapter for the "great honor" of being awarded the 2011 Timmermans-Zick Award. She added, "I am very happy that I found EWGA to learn to play the wonderful and at times very frustrating game of golf and for the opportunity to meet so many awesome women who have become my friends." Congrats, Jackie!

Leagues
League signup begins April 1 - no foolin'! There are still opportunities for League Coordinators for:
- George Wright Golf Course, Hyde Park
- Sassamon Trace Golf Course, Natick
- Weathervane Golf Club, Weymouth
The Season Kickoff Event for League Coordinators will be held at Golf Galaxy in Burlington on Saturday April 16. Please contact our Leagues chair prior to that date to volunteer - or ask questions.
Alternate signup ends on May 7. You can sign up for three separate Leagues at a cost of $25 per league... a great way to play golf this season.
Golf Events
The 2011 Event season is just around the corner... All events are listed on the Golf Events Information page and are available for immediate registration. Don't miss opportunities to play at 11 new courses this season - as well as some of our old favorites.
We're introducing a new format this season: Mix and Mingle. Are you a new member? Are you a veteran member looking to meet new women to golf with? Do you just want to mix it up a bit? Consider signing up for one of our new Mix and Mingle events this season, starting at South Shore Country Club on May 7. How it works is this: playing partners will be assigned randomly for the event, so you'll get to meet and play with some new folks. Look for more of these fun events throughout the season.
Event Coordinators are needed for the following events: - Hickory Hill Golf Course, August 6
- Acushnet River Valley Golf Course, August 27
- Far Corner Golf Course, September 17
Remember, Event Coordinators receive a $20 discount off their green fees. If you are interested, send an email. |
If You Missed Kickoff...
...here's what you missed.
On Saturday, March 19, approximately 100 women gathered at Sandy Burr Country Club to kick off the Boston golf season. This year's marquee event featured a cocktail reception, vendor showcase, and a golf fitness presentation by Diane Bader of Joe & Leigh's.
Members and non-members alike shared a fabulous afternoon of laughter and education as they learned about what's in store for members in the 2011 season. The event also featured a fun networking activity called Do You Know? where attendees had to guess a fun fact about other women.
If you missed Kickoff, there are still plenty of opportunities to join us as we ease into the season. Check out the golf events section on our website, and if you are a new member, don't miss our new member event at the Tewksbury County Club.

Sponsor Spotlight
Each month we'll feature one or more of this season's Chapter sponsors. These sponsors make many of our programs possible so it's important to think of them first when shopping for the products and services they offer. This month we're putting the spotlight on the New England Golf Guide, who is returning for their second year as a sponsor and Kickoff exhibitor.
In its 23rd year, the current edition of the New England Golf Guide lists 670 golf courses, has over 650 pages of golf course reviews, feature stories (one by a fellow Chapter member!), and $5,000 worth of coupons for greens fees, golf carts, and merchandise. The retail price is $23.95 and this year a portion of all sales go to Women's Cancer Research. The New England Golf Guide is available for sale at retail stores, pro shops, and Southern New England AAA locations.
