Deadline Extended to June 30!

Could you be the "Biggest Loser"?

In the Boston Chapter's handicap challenge, being the biggest loser is a good thing!

One of the reasons to establish a handicap is that it's a good way to track your improvement. Join in the fun and see how your handicap improves.

Just send an email - no later than June 30 - to our Handicap Chair with:

  • Your name
  • Handicap system used (GN21 or GHIN)
  • GHIN number, if using GHIN
Complete details - as well as a list of participants - are found on our Golf Handicapping page.

Last Call for 2010 Chapter Championship

Registration Deadline is June 30

Don't miss out on a little friendly competition. You still have a few days to submit your registration. The registration packet is found here.

Important Reminder:  Your registration must
be received (not postmarked) by June 30.

Stroke Play
As of today, there are no more than four competitors registered for any of the five flights. So, you stand a darn good chance of walking away a winner! Of course, everyone that plays is a winner...

We do have a limited number of slots available, so be sure to mail your registration today!

Volunteers
We're still looking for a few spotters to sit at a couple of holes and track the players' golf balls. If you're game - or have questions - please send an email to chapterchamp@ewgaboston.org.

It's a great opportunity to see how the Championship works so you're prepared to play next year!

Handicaps
Speaking of preparing for next year... Many of our players are "scrambling" to get their handicaps established by the July 1 revision date so they are qualified to compete.

Why wait until you need it? Why not use the EWGA handicap service that is included with your membership and start recording your scores today?! You never know what great competitive events you might want to play in next season.

Join us in July

We're closing in on the dog days of summer with July - and more fun and memorable times to be had - just around the corner.

Our July events begin with a bang with a trip to southeastern Maine on the weekend of the 10th. The Ledges and The Links at Outlook are terrific courses and great tune-ups for the Chapter Championship at Highfields on the 17th.

The 24th and 25th we visit southeastern MA with events at Southers Marsh and Widow's Walk.

On Monday the 26th, you have a unique opportunity to play the private Ipswich Country Club course.

We round out the month at Butter Brook on the 31st.

Don't miss out because the registration deadline passed you by - or because the event is sold out! Even though it seems like that event you really, really want to play is far away, the deadline is just around the corner. Most deadlines are more than one week prior to the event. So reserve your spot today!

Visit our Events page to register.

Connecticut Takes New England Cup Championship by Storm

On a beautiful almost-summer day, teams from all seven New England EWGA chapters competed in the inaugural New England Cup - a tournament that allowed participants to Connect... Learn... Play... Belong as one tight-knit New England group.

Seventy-two women played nine holes of individual match play and nine holes of four-ball match play in a quest for the Cup. The team with the greatest number of points - Fairfield CT chapter - was crowned the over-all Champion and will have their chapter's name inscribed on the traveling Claret Jug. The second place team - Central CT - was also recognized.

Our own Boston B team just missed second by a point. Way to go gals! Strategizing has already begun to capture the Cup in 2011!

The planning team got rave reviews for their execution of the New England Cup Championship. Everything went off without a hitch and a great time was had by all. Thanks to Jackie Corcoran and Ginny Evans for their efforts in coordinating the event!

Coming soon... check out more photos in the Photo Gallery on our website.
