Kicking Off the Season in Style

More than 100 attendees joined us as we kicked off the season. We had a blast as we sipped mimosas, met friends - new and old, checked out the cool vendor offerings, munched on brunch, got golf tips from the pros - and so much more!!

A big thank you to Akara Elsbach and her team of Connections Kickoff Volunteers who made the event a huge success!
  • Ina Armstrong
  • Dee Bouffard
  • Beth Hayes
  • Tess Hetzel
  • Reyne Macadaeg
  • Marie Royea
And a special thanks to Chris Swistro and her team, who worked so hard make sure we had some fantastic sponsors - plus four tables of the best drawing prizes ever!

Some highlights. We:
  • Signed up 10 new members on the spot, and wowed several others that are interested in joining our stellar group
  • Educated folks about the exciting events we have coming up this year
  • Got people excited about our marquee sponsor event:  Gear up for Golf on May 16th, which has 10 registrations already!
  • Talked up the MGAM program and our quest for the Gold member award next year
  • Signed up our first participants for Match Play and the New England Cup
  • Signed up volunteers to serve as event coordinators and more
  • Collected about $2000 from our drawing prizes - which will go back to our members through subsidized events and more
Check out photos from the event in our Photo Gallery.

Join us for May Merriment

Finally...the golf season is upon us! We have a variety of weekend events scheduled that we hope you will enjoy. In the month of May, we start off the season at Merrimack Valley in Methuen on the 8th. Then, we'll "par-tee" the following weekend at Franklin Park with our Mentoring event and at Pine Oaks, where we'll "Gear Up for Golf".

To round out the month, we'll celebrate all of our new Chapter members on the 22nd at Tewksbury CC and warm up for the Chapter Championship at Shaker Hills on the 23rd.

Come out and join us as we golf, laugh, and create memories of the 2010 season! For complete information, visit our Events web page.

Fairway Friends

Fairway Friends is a mentoring program available to all EWGA members. Experienced golfers are partnered with new golfers to help them feel comfortable on the golf course.

A mentor guides a new golfer on pace of play, basic rules, and proper etiquette on and off the golf course.

A mentee is someone making the transition from instruction to playing on a golf course.

If you are interested in being a mentor or mentee, please email our Education chair with your name, home and work location, member number, and phone number.
