Westport River Winery Recap
Recently, 16 members and guests ventured to Westport Rivers Winery. It was a beautiful day for touring the winery and learning about their award-winning process for making sparkling white wine. And it wouldn't be a winery tour without tasting the fruits of their labor. The ladies enjoyed several varieties of Westport Rivers wines.
After the tour (and some wine buying), the group headed to Bittersweet Farms for great dinner and conversation. A big thank you to all of you who were able to join us.

New Login Procedure for ewga.com
You should have received a message from EWGA with instructions for logging in to the new database. If you misplaced it, we converted the message to a pdf - "New EWGA Database Login Instructions" - and filed it in the Filing Cabinet on our website.
You'll need this information for renewing your membership and updating your information for league registration and other Chapter activities. So establish your new password soon!

2009-2010 Timmermans-Zick Award
Call for Nominations: Due February 26
Each year, the Boston Chapter of the EWGA recognizes an outstanding member with the prestigious Timmermans-Zick award.
This award was established to honor the founders of the EWGA Boston Chapter - Karen Timmermans and Jean Zick. The first award was presented to the Boston Chapter founders in 1996.
Criteria and qualifications for the award include:
- The recipient will be a spirited and committed individual who has positively impacted the Chapter through her involvement and participation.
- She is known by her peers as a leader and team player.
- She supports and promotes the Chapter as a means to foster friendships and promoted the advancement of women in golf.
- She has been a member of the Boston chapter for one year or more.
- She participates in league play or events.
Past recipients (not eligible again) are Karen Zimmermans; Jean Zick; Ann Donovan; Pandora Picciano; Jan Olmstead; Emily Strawn; Kris Filan; Cathie Ellison Scheeren; Kathy Creedon; Martha Donovan; Sue Curtain; Judy Kokinda; MaryBeth Foster; Heather Annaloro; Dee Bouffard; Linda Gilbert; and, last year's recipient, Chris Swistro.
The EWGA Boston Chapter Board of Directors is now accepting nominees for the 2009-2010 Timmermans-Zick Award. Do you know a member who meets the criteria listed above? If so, send your nomination to leadership@ewgaboston.org. Please include a brief reason for nominating this individual.
All nominations must be received by Friday, February 26, 2010. Each nomination will be considered and voted on by the Board. The winner will be presented the award at the Boston Chapter Connections Kickoff Brunch on Sunday, April 18 from 1-4 pm at the Westin Hotel in Waltham.

The New England Cup
EWGA Boston will host the inaugural New England Cup on Saturday, June 19 at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northborough - on the Lakeside and Riverside courses.
Plan to join us for a day of competitive golf with members of the New England Chapters, competing for the Inaugural New England Cup!

Our CDS Receives Award
The EWGA has named Zona Trahan of the Houston, TX Chapter, as the 2009 recipient of the Nancy Oliver Founder's Award. This is the Association's highest honor for its volunteer leaders.
Zona serves as Chapter Development Specialist (CDS) for Boston and four other Chapters. In her role as CDS, Zona will act as liaison between EWGA and our Board. She will share her vast EWGA experience with us - having served in almost every Board position in her Chapter! This will aid our effort to grow the Chapter and offer our members the most value for their membership.

Women On Par® Scholarship Program
The EWGA Foundation is accepting applications for its 2010 Women On Par® scholarship through March 15, 2010 or until 200 applications have been received.
The scholarship program was established to provide financial assistance to nontraditional female students - women at least 30 years of age - who need assistance bolstering their education to allow them to 'get on par' with their peers and to advance themselves, whether professionally or personally. EWGA membership is not a requirement to apply for or receive a scholarship.
