New Look for EWGA &  for EWGA Boston

EWGA has unveiled a new logo, seen above and on our new web site.

We will soon announce the new web site, and you will see exciting changes.  The URL will remain the same, but it won't look the same!

The new web site incorporates chapter news, enhanced on-line event and league registration, a members' bulletin board, tournament management features, and more.  Watch for it!

Welcome New Member:

Chapter Championship FAQ's: Competition for the individual Boston Chapter Championship is flighted stroke play.  What does that mean?

In stroke play, each player plays her own ball - play is very similar to league play and events play - you score your own ball.
Flighted play means that you play with players of similar skill level.  Your flight placement is based on your handicap index in effect as of the most recent revision date prior to the Chapter Championship.   There are four flights plus the championship level:

Championship

0.0

-

8.0

1st flight

8.1

-

16.0

2nd flight

16.1

-

24.0

3rd Flight

24.1

-

32.0

4th flight

32.1

-

40.4

Remember there are two winners at each level, the gross score winner and the net score winner.  Your handicap places you in a flight playing with golfers of similar ability and also helps you become a winner.

Leagues - Putterham
League News:
Coordinators are needed for 3 leagues: Far Corner, Brookmeadow (Thursday night) and Mt. Hood

Being the Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
1. Paying the course with checks that you will get from the league treasurer at the coordinators meeting in April
2. Watching the weather and emailing league members and alternates when the course is closed due to rain/thunder storms
3. Keeping track of league members using alternates so that at the end of the year we get a good update
4. Most of all, making sure that your league members are having fun!
Also, you will participate in the League Championship which will be held on September 13, 2009 at The New England Country Club along with 3 other members from your league.
There is a Coordinators' handbook on our website for additional guidance.  Go to the Leagues page at

Networking in February!

A great time was had by all at our February 5th Member/Guest networking event!

In addition to over 30 members and 15 guests mingling over good food and drink, the event featured guest speaker Jeanne Worrick.  Jeanne provided a witty summary of her sales principals for women and "linked" those with the principals we can use as women on the golf course.  Thanks again to all who participated!
