A monthly newsletter for members of
the
EWGA Boston Chapter Golfing Community
| Women Who Lead |
 |
|
Several Boston Chapter women have been
recognized by EWGA as finalists in the first
ever "Women Who Lead" Award Program. These
members were selected from hundreds of nominees
nationwide as volunteer leaders who have made a
difference in the chapter through outstanding
performance and outstanding results in one of ten
award categories:
Maryann Navin for Spirit, as a
board member who displayed a positive, can-do
attitude that made a tangible difference in the chapter.
Chris Swistro for Sponsorship,
who did a great job in securing both cash and in-kind
sponsorships through an exceptional program that
reaped exceptional results.
Lois Greenwald for Golf Events,
for having a great event schedule that met the needs
of members, as reflected by good turnout.
Linda Buckland-Morando & Maureen Higgins
for Community Impact , who through their
leadership of the Chip-In for Cancer tournament, have
made a real difference in the community and gained
exposure for EWGA.
National winners will be announced at the EWGA
Conference in Palm Desert in February (see details of
the conference elsewhere in the newsletter).

|
It's not too early to give you a peek into 2009 event
planning. The Kick-off Brunch will be held on
March 28th at the Westin - Waltham. The
golf event season will begin on Saturday, April 25 with
a Sip & Swing event at Middleton Golf Course,
followed by an etiquette clinic with LPGA pro Cathy
MacPherson at Swing with Style.
Twenty-four events are scheduled for 2009, including
new locations such as Old Marsh in Wells, ME and
Ocean Edge in Brewster, MA -- as well as returns to
old favorites such as Blackstone National.
We will be scheduling several "Nine & Dine" events in
2009. Members have expressed an interest in these
casual networking events.
And don't forget to save the Labor Day weekend for a
fantastic trip to The Balsams in Dixville Notch, NH.
If you can help make our ambitious golf event season
a success by coordinating an event, please contact
