The decision about whether to continue funding to the Rural and Community Access to Emergency Devices Program is going to happen within the next month or so. We know you have all been busy advocates contacting your representatives and want to thank you for your diligent activity. It's important to not let our enthusiasm fade as the timing becomes more crucial for this issue.

The following are some ways you can take quick action to ensure this life-saving program is preserved.
1. Send your representative an email:
--Click on the link and enter your zip code in the top right hand corner to get your representative's contact information (Representatives and Senators)
--Click on a representative name; click on the contact tab.
--Send them an email explaining why this issue is important and why it should be supported. You can use this script as a sample or tell your story in your own words.
2. Call your representatives on the phone:
--Click on the link and enter your zip code in the top right hand corner to get your representative's contact information (Representatives and Senators)
--Click on a representative name; click on the contact tab.
--Call and ask for the health care legislative assistant; if he/she is not available read the script on his/her voice mail.
--If you reach the assistant, read the script or use as a guide when talking to this person.
3. Request a meeting with your representative(s) in the district office in your community:
--Click on the link and enter your zip code in the top right hand corner to get your representative's contact information (Representatives and Senators)
--Click on a representative name; click on the contact tab.
--Call and ask if you can set up a time to meet with your representative or a member of his/her staff when they are home in the district office.
--If you can meet with the Representative or his/her staff, use the script as talking points for when you meet with them.
