Exciting things have been happening. See Below for
more details.....
| QuickBooks 2007 Introduced |
 |
|
Depending on how you're currently using
QuickBooks will determine whether you need or want
to upgrade to the 2007. They haven't changed
the looks from 2006, but added some new features.
Unit of Measure Conversion
This is one of the biggest improvements and
important IF you use inventory. You can now Buy a
Case and Sell an each. It automatically converts
both the cost & sell accordingly.
Schedule Payroll Groups
Many of you pay different groups of employee's at
different times. Currently, you have to scroll through
the list of employee's and check the ones you want
each time. With the 2007, you can create
scheduled groups of employee's. Select the
scheduled group and you're ready to go.
Improved Forms Customization
One of the most annoying facts of customizing your
forms, is after making all the changes you want,
having to
exit back to the form to see if it looks like what you
want. Now, you can preview the form right from the
customization screen. This is a real time saver.
Scheduled Backups
For those of you who frequently "forget" to backup
you can now schedule the backups to happen
automatically. You may even want to look into doing
online backup. You select the files you want
backed up and it's done remotely.
Improved UPS & FedEx Shipping Manager
Now it works with a thermal printer and links to your
existing account.
Google Desktop & Marketing Tools
You can now integrate Google Marketing Tools in
QuickBooks. Create key words for businesses to find
you.

| Do I need to Upgrade? |
 |
|
NO, Unless you are currently on any
version of QuickBooks 2004 and using Intuit's payroll,
then you MUST upgrade to 2007. There will NOT be
a 2007 tax table available for any QuickBooks version
prior to 2005.
Otherwise, look over the new features and see if
there is anything that would help improve how you're
using QuickBooks now.
See below for a 10% discount when upgrading.

| Outgrowing QuickBooks? |
 |
|
If you think you might be outgrowing QuickBooks,
you
need to take a look at Enterprise. It has all of the
features of QuickBooks plus more. It can even
handle up to 20 users! Recently, I have
converted several companies from programs like
MAS90, Great Plains and others into Enterprise and
it's working fine. Call me for more information.
Because more and more people are moving to
Enterprise, Intuit has started a new pilot program for
Pro Advisors. I have been fortunate enough to be
the first QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Provider
in Oregon and SW Washington. Because of this,
I will be attending several advance training sessions
over the next few months.
Some of the added features of Enterprise are:
- Up to 20 Users
- Edit User abilities down to the line item
- Built in Financial Report Writer
- New Search Field from the Item List
- Have up to 100,000 Items
- Built in ODBC link to Excel & Access
- Remote Access
- and more...
Plus, with the over 300 Add-on programs available
we
can make QuickBooks Enterprise be just about
anything you need it to be.

| Year End Is Coming |
 |
|
I realize it's only the end of October, but NOW is the
time to review your financial information and see your
accountant! Waiting until January is waiting until it's
too late to fix or change anything.
As in year's past, I will be offering a year end
review special. If you would like an appointment to
look things over, please call or email. All year end
appointments scheduled prior to 12/31/06 will receive
a 10% discount. Make sure and clip the coupon at
the end of this newsletter.
Speaking of Year End. I QuickBooks 2005
and higher you can print your W-2's on plain paper.
No need to purchase forms. As far as I know, you
will still need IRS forms for 1099's. I will have a
supply available. If you need less than 25 1099's,
place your order now and we'll mail them the end of
December. 1099 sets and envelopes are $0.60/set.
