Miracle Valley Up-Date December 15, 2007
From Dr. Harter
Dr. Melvin Harter

NEARLY 22 years ago, I incorporation Melvin Harter Ministries.

During those days, I was doing evangelistic work in local churches as well as under gospel tents.

I thought at the time of the name that I should give to the incorporation.  Meanwhile, the many places I conducted revivals, many churches and individuals simply made their offering out directly to me, Melvin Harter.

I thought it would simply be advantageous for everyone involved to simply call the nonprofit incorporation MELVIN HARTER MINISTRIES. I also felt that it would strengthen the integrity of the ministry, especially if a person's name is listed on it.

Now I would suppose there are others who would be of the persuasion that if a person places their own name on their incorporation that they may be simply trying to build themselves up personally and lead into, if not already, pride.

But I took issue with this factor and believed that if a person included his name on his ministry (incorporation), then it would mean that he must always protect his integrity.

It is so easy to name a ministry (incorporation) some special name and then later, after being involved in an embarrassing situation, simply change the name of the organization to another name, and thereby disallow one's integrity.

Back in 1986, I really did not have any great plans. I simply prayed and waited on God. God began to open doors to me.

A few years later, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and his wife Francis invited Sister Harter & I to lunch during their Crusade in Columbus, Ohio. During that luncheon, Brother & Sister Swaggart invited me to join the staff at the Jimmy Swaggart Bible College & Seminary (later renamed World Evangelism Bible College & Seminary.) I felt the Lord opened this door so my family & I relocated to Baton Rouge, LA where I served for several wonderful years there. The Swaggarts showed sincere genuine Christian love to my family & I while we were there. We continue to count them as dear friends.

Since that time, God has blessed our ministry tremendously.  We purchased various properties, started several local churches and formed the Pentecostal Bible Institute.

Then in 1998, God began to speak to me regarding Miracle Valley. God made the way for Melvin Harter Ministries to purchase Miracle Valley Bible College in 1999.

Every Pentecostal preacher alive who is worth his salt is acquainted with the name REV. A. A. ALLEN and MIRACLE VALLEY.

But to say at that time that I was really into A. A. Allen, I must admit that I was not.

I knew Miracle Valley was in Arizona, but exactly where I did not know.

But there is always something that I am fully aware of and that is the VOICE OF GOD.

God doesn't speak to me the same way each time; however, He does seem to speak to me in a most unique fashion, especially when it concerns a major direction in our ministry.

I will never forget that day. It seems like it was just yesterday.

During special prayer and a time of sincerely seeking the face of God, THAT VOICE SPOKE AGAIN.

"GO DOWN TO MIRACLE VALLEY AND BUILD MY BIBLE COLLEGE."

There was no question or doubt in my mind. I immediately looked on a map to located Miracle Valley.

God immediately opened every door for me, as well as what amount of money that I should offer the current owners.

A contract was signed on August 4, 1999 and Miracle Valley was immediately assigned to us. PRAISE GOD!

This was the first time we had ever been in the West.  We didn't know anyone, but Sister Harter & I were so happy because we both knew that we were in the divine will of God.

Well, that was over 8 years ago. And I must admit that it has been most difficult at Miracle Valley and very stressful to us both. But, nevertheless, we have not quit.  We have continued to believe God and GOD HAS COME THROUGH EVERY TIME.

Now the Year 2008 is the YEAR OF JUBILEE for MIRACLE VALLEY. I believe that God has planned something very special for this place.

Something wonderful and most extraordinary is about to occur at Miracle Valley. How do I know that? It's sort of like "I know that I know."

Remember, just as God has called me, God has called others to stand by my side.

Note that the Melvin Harter Ministries is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

  All donations are tax-deductable.

Greetings!

It is difficult to believe that we have come to the end of another year. However, we can rest assure that we are nearer to the coming of the Lord than ever before.

As we near the end of 2007, it is always important for people to review their income for 2007.

Sometimes people do not realize it, but if they make certain donation amounts to 501c3 organizations, it may reduce the amount of taxes they must pay to the IRS.

This means a person residing in the USA must pay a certain amount of their income to the IRS.  However, that same individual can make the determination that they will donate to Miracle Valley, thus reducing the amount of taxable income they may have.

Of course, you should always check with your accountant or financial advisor for specific amounts to be donated.

Remember, you have only through December 31, 2007 to make your donation to Miracle Valley in order to claim it on your 2007 tax return.

God bless every one of you.

JERRY HENSLEY NEEDS A MIRACLE
JH Praying Jerry Hensley of Morrow, Ohio is a truck diver. He owns and operates his own 18 wheeler and travels from coast to coast.

Last week, he returned to Miracle Valley, Arizona - the place where his parents resided in the 1960s and where he grew up as a child. Jerry has many fond memories of Miracle Valley and enjoys sharing them.

Jerry shared with us the fact that he was just recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. Just knowing that you have cancer can be very depressing.

But his memories of the mighty miracles that occurred at Miracle Valley by the hand of God detoured him a short distance off of Interstate 10 and brought him again to Miracle Valley.

Only able to stay a few hours, Jerry spent the entirety of his time in the tabernacle where he knelt down on his knees for prayer and where he joined with several other individuals, singing and lifting their voices to God in song.

Every one present anointed Jerry with oil and special prayer was made before the Lord.

(The above photo shows Jerry during his recent visit on his knees praying in the altar of Allen's tabernacle.)

Jerry's father, Boone Hensley, worked as a printer at Miracle Valley in the late 1950s and 1960s. His mother worked in the A. A. Allen International Headquarters building.  Jerry attended A. A. Allen's Elementary & Jr. High School at Miracle Valley.

Jerry is a financial supporter of the restoration of Miracle Valley. He has been a blessing to Dr. Harter in transporting heavy equipment (backhoe & dump truck) that was brought from Ohio to Arizona.

Jerry Singing
Jerry loves the Lord and is seen here as he joins in the singing at Miracle Valley.

Will you join with the Prayer Team at Miracle Valley in praying and believing God for a MIRACLE for Jerry?

Remember, GOD CAN DO ANYTHING BUT FAIL.

A friend of Dr. Harter, Mr. Jerry Kilgore is a retired contractor from Shelby, Ohio. He is a man who built many local church buidings throughout the Mid-West.

Brother Kilgore wants to help restore Miracle Valley as well. He will be visiting Arizona the week of January 6. Dr. Harter has asked Brother Kilgore to make architectural drawings/plans as near as possible for the reconstruction of Allen's platform including its unique ramp.

He believes he can do this when viewing various pictures during his stay at Miracle Valley.
DONATING FUNDS FOR PLATFORM
Peter Contreras There is no one who has a greater love for Miracle Valley than Rev. Peter Contreras.

Upon learning of Dr. Harter's desire to rebuild the platform in the Allen Tabernacle, Peter Contreras immediately committed to help.

Rev. Peter Contreras and his Bethel Pentecostal Church located in Blue Island, Illinois have consented to raising the necessary funds to purchase the needed material for the construction of the large platform in the tabernacle.

The platform measures 60 feet wide and 4 feet high.  In addition, a large ramp is attached to the front of the platform.

Rev. Contreras is an alumnus of Miracle Valley Bible College and has served for over 40 years as Pastor of the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Blue Island, Illinois.

Peter Contreras has been very instrumental in the involvement of his local community. He has served as President of the Public School Board, been a member of the Hospital Board, served with the local Blue Island Police Department, as well as many other civic duties.

But Miracle Valley and Rev. A. A. Allen continue to have a special place in his heart.

It will require a lot of material to rebuild the Allen platform.

Will you join in with Rev. Peter Contreras and help with its funding? If so, call Rev. Contreras at (708) 389-0651 and let him know that you too want to be a part of the restoration of Miracle Valley.
On behalf of Sister Harter and myself, I want to say a special THANK YOU to each of our supporters. Without you, we could not have accomplished our objectives. God is going to bless every one who has stood with us during the time we have been at Miracle Valley. Just like they held Moses' arms, you have done the same for me.
May God's blessings be yours,

Dr. Melvin Harter
