  Ray Kemery's Home Coming
From Dr. Melvin Harter - Miracle Valley, AZ January 21, 2006

  Greetings!

Yesterday, I preached Ray Kemery's funeral service and he was laid to rest in the Miracle Valley Cemetery. He was 90 years young last August. Ray Kemery was a dear friend of Miracle Valley.

Becoming acquainted with Ray nearly seven years ago, I soon realized that God had blessed Ray with a very fulfilling life. I would like to share some things in Ray's life with you.

RK1
An Old Bi-Plane

Ray was a pilot and learned to fly at an early age in a bi-plane.

During World War II he built planes for the war effort and worked for Douglas Aircraft and Lockheed Aircraft in Los Angeles, CA. After the war, he managed the Santa Monica Airport (Clover Field) and worked for the Flying Tigers as flight mechanic and test pilot.

RK7
Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose

Ray built the 12-cylinder engines that powered Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose and was a personal friend of Mr. Hughes as well and often accompanied Mr. Hughes on his dates with women. He said that his purpose for going along was so that the woman, who was Mr. Hughes' date, would not sue Mr. Hughes by stating that he promised to marry her.

RK3
Jimmy Stewart

During his tenure serving as a pilot with the Flying Tigers, Ray became personal friends with famous movie actor, Jimmy Stewart, who was a pilot as well.

However, Ray was a very devoted Christian and entered the ministry. He soon began working for Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. He was instrumental in the making of two of their movies shown in churches across the nation.

Kemery & Allen Tent
Ray Kemery on Camera # 1, Under the Allen Tent

In 1951, while working for the moving industry, Kemery took motion pictures of the Allen Revival tent being erected in California. (That film can be viewed today.)

Shortly thereafter, Kemery was challenged by his peers as to whether or not he could produce a motion picture of the Allen Revival Campaign being held under the Allen tent. Knowing that a bumble bee is not suppose to be able to fly, he accepted the challenge. He filmed the Allen meetings and had them put on a local television station.

When viewers saw the vast healings and miracles, they flooded the tent to the extent that the tent could not hold the people. Due to Kemery's efforts, ALLEN WAS THE FIRST EVANGELIST TO HAVE HIS HEALING CAMPAIGNS PREACH ON TELEVISION.

In the mid 1950's Ray went to work for Allen Revivals, Inc. He was the Motion Picture Camera Technician/Producer for the A. A. Allen telecast. His picture appears on the front cover of MIRACLE MAGAZINE, VOL. 1, NO. 1 dated OCTOBER 1955.

Ray shared a story with me that was featured in an article he wrote in A. A. ALLEN'S FEBRUARY'S 1956's MIRACLE MAGAZINE. It was entitled, "THE CAMERAMAN'S STORY OF THE NAILED SCARRED HANDS."

"God had been pouring oil on the hands of the people, all the last week of the Lost Angeles meeting. Yes, I said oil. It just appeared out of nowhere. Signs and miracles had been present in every one of these last week meetings. Unusual signs and miracles.

On Saturday night, God took over the service as He had done every night of that week. Suddenly oil started to appear on people's hands, as it had regularly each night before. This night it was all over my hands, till I could hardly hold on to the heavy camera panning bar. Brother Allen asked all the people that had oil on their hands to come up front and form a line where the people could see it.

Then he said to me, "Brother Kemery, get some good close-ups of this oil in color, so the people can really see what it looks like."

He reached down and picked up a man's hands and said, "Look here, folks! Look at this man's hands!"

When I looked through the view finder of my camera, I could hardly believe my eyes. There was a pair of hands with oil, however, these hands had nail prints. When I got Doc's (Kemery called Allen, Doc) attention, I told him what I saw. Others were now coming through the ramp.

Allen stopped and asked the crowd to look for this special man, however, a woman stood to her feet and began to prophesy. "THIS NIGHT HAVE I WALKED AMONG YOU AND YE KNEW ME NOT!"

JESUS CHRIST was literally under that great A. A. Allen tent that night! Ray Kemery was an eye- witness."

Boone
Boone Hensley at Printing Press in Miracle Valley, AZ in 1962

Boone Hensley, one of the first people to come and help Brother Allen in the building of Miracle Valley, recently went home to be with the Lord.

Brother Hensley worked in Allen's printing operation, as well as his family working in various other areas of the Allen Ministry at Miracle Valley, AZ.

Rev. Peter Contreras, pastor of Bethel Pentecostal Church in Blue Island, IL officiated the service.

Brother Hensley wanted so much to return to Miracle Valley and had shared with me that if he could, he would be willing to give everything he had to Miracle Valley to see that it was restored once again. What a wonderful man of God was Boone Hensley!

Our sincere prayers go out to the Hensley family who continue to love and support Miracle valley to this day.

Jerry
Jerry Hensley & Dr. Harter

Jerry Hensley, one of Boone's sons, has especially been a blessing to Miracle Valley by hauling our equipment across the nation, as well as supporting our ministry today. God bless you Jerry.

All down through the history of Miracle Valley, God has had a people. A people who were dedicated and committed to what God wanted done in this place.

Today, God is doing it again. Some years ago, it was prophesied that Miracle Valley would be somewhat abandon and go into disrepair. However, that same prophecy stated that "in the last days, God is going to raise Miracle Valley up again." However, this time, a world-wide revival will start at Miracle Valley, and many will come to Jesus Christ. Believe what you want, but I have seen too much of God's power not to believe that God is not going to do it again.

Already, one dear brother in California is bringing his motor home with workers. They arrive next week. Several have responded to our previous email and are trying to come to Miracle Valley at work as well. Friends, God is doing something wonderful at Miracle Valley. Wouldn't you like to be a part of it? Call or write us today.

God bless everyone of you,

Dr. Melvin Harter
