July 14, 2004 Miracle Valley Newsletter
From Dr. Melvin Harter
Greetings!
I want to share with you from my heart for just a moment.

As many of you are aware, Miracle Valley has not had proper maintenance for many years.

I am sure that this was due to the fact that the previous owners did not have the financial resources to maintain the property because it is a rather large property especially with the buildings, etc.

There are many things that have not been maintained or neglected and now must be up-dated.

For example, with the exception of the Cafeteria, all the buildings desperately need metal roofs.

The State of Arizona has informed us that the sewer system needs to be up-dated.

Many of the buildings need to be remodeled, both inside and outside.

Settlement with the Central Latin American District Council of the Assemblies of God

Our Legal Issue - The Christian Faith compels us not to take our Christian brothers to court.

I Corinthians 6:1, "Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?"

We have only gone to court to defend ourselves with our signed Purchase Agreement and the Lord has always stood by our side.

Each time as defendants we were taken to court, the Lord granted us favor and we prevailed.

We have always requested a settlement with the former owners, only to be rejected by their attorney.

The previous owners of Miracle Valley acquired the services of another attorney (their 3rd attorney) and he advised CLAD to seek a settlement.

After giving ourselves to prayer and fasting, we believe the Lord has worked for us in obtaining a settlement with CLAD. We have to pay $645,000 by March 31, 2005.

If we fail to do so, we lose Miracle Valley and it returns to CLAD. Chances are, Miracle Valley would then cease to be a Bible College and Training Center.

However, if we are successful, the deed will automatically be transferred and Miracle Valley Bible College & Seminary will continue to train Pentecostal preachers until the Lord comes again.

This now ends all further legal action with CLAD.

Right now I need your help. I have less than ten months to raise $645,000.

If we can get 645 people to donate just $1,000 each, it would be enough to have CLAD paid in full.

Considering the thousands of individuals who have been greatly blessed here at Miracle Valley since its beginning, surely there are 645 people who will stand by us at this time.

Special Miracle Valley Fund Established at Wells Fargo Bank
by Dr. Harter   $645,000 Needed by March 31, 2004
Our Integrity - I want you to know that we are a people of integrity.

Some have asked, "What would happen to the our money if Dr. Harter is unable to complete this transaction?"

For example, if we raised $600,000 and cannot raise the final $50,000, do we take your money with us when we leave Miracle Valley? Absolutely, Not!

Sister Harter and I have already discussed this issue. We realize that it is not right to take money that is given for a certain purpose and use it for something totally different.

The money you donate will go only toward the actual purchase of Miracle Valley and nothing else.

Now in order to maintain our integrity and guarantee donors' money, we have established a special trust fund at a local bank in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

All monies received for the purchase of Miracle Valley Bible College will be placed in this special Purchase Fund. Upon depositing your donation of $1,000 a letter will be mailed to you informing you of the deposit.

For whatever reason that we are unable to pay off Miracle Valley in full by March 31, 2005, all monies received will be returned in full to the appropriate donor with their accummulated interest.

I think this says something about our ministry here at Miracle Valley.

Special People Who Love Miracle Valley
by Dr. Harter   Our Supporters
For everyone who will donate $1,000 to help us purchase Miracle Valley, we will place their name (or the name of a loved one) for a lasting memorial on a metal leaf on the special designed tree that is on our wall in the main lobby of the Administration Building.

Already several people who have donated one thousand dollars.

Richard & Shirley Siegler of Elfrida, Arizona are the first to donate $1,000. This couple both work hard and between them, they only make a little more than $11 per hour. This is a financial sacrifice on their part. They drive over 50 miles one way to Miracle Valley to church services every Sunday morning because they love God and love Miracle Valley. They hope that someday, Miracle Valley Bible College will send an evangelistic group to their area and start a church in Elfrida.

June Blackburn of Pierce, Arizona donated $1,000 to the Purchase Fund. She and her husband drive over 80 miles one way to church at Miracle Valley every Sunday morning. They want Miracle Valley Bible College to send a student to pastor a church in their area.

Nathan Harter, our son who is serving in the military in South Korea, has pledged $1,000 to the Purchase Fund. Although he is on a limited budget, he has already sent $600 and plans to send the remaining $400 soon.

Rev. Peter & Phyllis Contreras of Blue Island, Illinois, pastors of Bethel Pentecostal Church, who brought 23 young people on June 21 to volunteer to work at Miracle Valley for 5 days, and who purchased several needed items during their time here, have pledge to give $1,000 to the Purchase Fund. They will be sending their $1,000 very soon.

Sarah Harter, our 18 year old daughter who is attending college, drew $500 out from her college savings that had consisted of $550 and gave it to the Purchase Fund.

Jerry Snider of Riverside, California who had attended Miracle Valley Training Center in the 1960s telephoned and when he was told of our integrity, he stated that he will pledge $1,000 as well to the Purchase Fund for Miracle Valley.

So far, we have $3,100 and $2,400 in pledges that will soon arrive, thus making a grand total of $5,500 toward the actual purchase of Miracle Valley. Will you prayerfully consider standing with us? We only need 640 more people to stand with us.

Can We Count On You?
by Dr. Harter   This is a picture of Miracle Valley with its beautiful sky.
Shortly after our arrival at Miracle Valley in August 1999, we had a realtor to contact us. He wanted to bring some people by who were interested in leasing some of our buildings. Once here, they preferred purchasing and offered 1.5 million dollars for Miracle Valley. Of course, we had no interest to sell.

In March 2003, a realtor from Casa Grande, Arizona contacted our office. She had people who were interested in obtaining the college. She brought a group of Catholics to view the campus. She later emailed our office with an offer of 2 million dollars for Miracle Valley and stated this was their low offer. However, as I had explained to her during our initial contact, Miracle Valley was not on the market to be sold.

Last summer, we had two brokers to visit Miracle Valley. They had offers to purchase Miracle Valley for a sum of 3 million dollars. When the second broker was speaking with me, I began praying in my spirit, asking the Lord if this was His will. Immediately what came to my mind was a song made popular by the Gospel Singer, Michael Combs. The song was entitled, "Not For Sale." Besides this, the last thing God told me was, "Go down to Miracle Valley and build My Bible College." The Lord hasn't told me anything else, so I am still here, working and believing God with all my heart.

Satan attacks people in many ways. Sometimes he fights so hard that a person becomes discouraged and simply quits. Other times, he gets a person to run out of money so they have to quit. If these attacks do not get a person to quit, then the devil will try to buy you out.

We have stood the test against open opposition. We have strived to stretch every dollar and believed God for every need. Then the devil has tried to buy us out. But we are still here because God has stood with us. Will you stand with us? Sister Harter & I appreciate everyone of you and ask that God keeps His hand on you.
