Scotland Send Off
CHS Drama Thanks Community
Director of Theatre Arts Todd Westendorf and the Chiawana High Stage Company would like to extend a huge 'Thank You' to the community for helping them raise funds to perform at the 2012 American High School Theatre Festival at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland this summer.
Before departing on Aug. 2, the group will perform its Fringe show, Chicken Bones for the Teenage Soup, in the CHS Black Box Theatre on July 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. The show is free and seating is limited to a first come, first seat basis.
The CHS Stage Company performed three shows this year from which most of the net profits went towards funding the Fringe trip. "We have had a huge amount of support from the entire school district and we appreciate all of it," says Westendorf.

McLoughlin's Life Event Planning team, Adrianna McKinney and Rachel McEnderfer, who planned and organized the Hope Run for Cancer earned a gold medal for their portfolio outlining the project. The girls, who are both entering 9th grade in the fall, plan to make the run an annual event.
Tayler Miller and Jessica Phongodoum, who will both be 8th graders in the fall, won a silver medal for their Chapter Service Manual outlining their awareness campaign for the Ronald McDonald house in Spokane, including organizing a pop tab collection.
The 6th grade team earned a silver award in the National Programs in Action category for their STOP the Violence-Gun Safety project presented to Ruth Livingston Elementary students. Team members are Kennedy Meredith, Kaitllyn Roy, and Kali Saueressig, who will all be 7th graders this fall.
"The students had an amazing time in Orlando and are returning with lots of fun ideas for our chapter next year," says FCCLA Advisor Maria Bice. "Students are looking forward to planning projects for our three outreach partners in the fall, Share our Strength, March of Dimes and Soles4Souls."
