Next Thursday, March 8, the Dilworth Cares Committee of the DCDA will host its 3rd Annual Wine Tasting at the Wine Shop, 2442 Park Road across from Red Cross headquarters. Plan to come and sample some excellent, attractively-priced wines, enjoy seeing neighbors and meet the man who inspired this event, Doc Hendley---founder of Boone-based Wine to Water.
The website is informative, but meeting him and hearing him tell of his work is worth carving out a little time on your calendar. Mike Collins has interviewed him twice on WFAE and he has just published a new book which Sally Brewster of Park Road books will have available for him to sign.
Admission is $15 per person which covers the tasting and enters your name in a drawing for a basket of fine wines. If you would like to help promote the event, download the attached flyer and post it on your Facebook page for your friends to see and invite them to come. Proceeds from ticket sales and a portion of the the profits from wine sales will go to Wine to Water. This is a chance to have fun, meet a real CNN hero and make a life-saving difference for people who need access to clean water.
