This practice is not about doing something easier, faster, quicker, or anything like that at all.  . . . This is a different muscle we're developing altogether.

The profound aspect of this . . .  is that we're not saying we need to become someone else. This practice is actually acknowledging that there is something already going on about our humanity that is profound. You don't need to do anything else. We just need to rest in our natural state. And in so doing, we discover that we are confident, at our ease, brave, kind, respectful beings. And this can have a tremendously positive impact on organizations.

Back Pain Grimace

Uncoupling Awareness of Pain from Thoughts & Emotions

What is your relationship with your pain? Perhaps that seems like an odd question, but many have found that an exploration into this very relationship, with a mind of curiosity and compassion, can yield some profound revelations. Author, scientist, and teacher, Jon Kabat-Zinn, author of Full Catastrophe Living, explains how we can  discover a mind of freedom and awareness even in the midst of stress and suffering. Can Mindfulness  Help with Weight Loss?

Learning how to attend to one's moment-to-moment experience of eating may always be a work in progress for many of us, but one with many payoffs. By training the mind to savor just one exquisite mouthful of food at a time, just as we train the mind to attend to other discrete experiences, one at a time, the door  opens to the possibility of a new and remarkable relationship with food. In this article by Dr. Jan Chozen Bays, explore how the process of learning to eat mindfully means examining and discarding our negative habitual thinking associated with food, and replacing it with love, acceptance, curiosity, and a respect for our innate inner wisdom.
