OUR WORK
Flyin' Hawaiian All-Stars
Each season, SVF hosts local children's groups at a Phillies home game, providing them with game tickets, concessions, t-shirts and a chance to meet Shane on the field during batting practice! In 2012, we have hosted four groups through this program thus far, including ScoutReach (part of the Boy Scouts), Project HOME, EducationWorks and North Camden Jr RBI League. These organizations serve underprivileged children in a variety of ways and we were glad to provide this once-in-a-lifetime experience for them!
Philanthropy Summit
Shane was the keynote speaker at the Philadelphia Business Journal's Corporate Philanthropy Summit on April 26. He spoke about the importance of charity, what the Foundation's work means to him, as well as why he wanted to give back to the Philadelphia community, in front of an audience of 400 guests representing local corporations and non-profits. In reference to the Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club, Shane said that although he planned on playing for the Phillies for the rest of his career, even if he couldn't, he was proud that there would always be a place his children could come back to, "and they could say, 'this is what my dad did.'"
Our Story
Take a look at our new Foundation video (courtesy of Center City Film and Video) to hear Shane talk about his inspiration for starting the Foundation, as well as his dream for the future!
Honored
Shane was honored by the Freire Charter School for his philanthropic work at their Bridge to Wisdom reception on April 9. In addition, Shane and Melissa were recently honored with the Community Impact Award from the Community Partnership School on April 26.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Donor Spotlight
You may have seen our Foundation car (pictured right) around Philly. This was made possible by the generosity of Winner Ford and Sign-A-Rama Philadelphia Center City. We are incredibly grateful for their support!
A Loving Tribute
We would like to express our gratitude to the Columbo family, for requesting that donations be made to SVF in lieu of flowers, in memory of Russell Columbo, Sr. Thank you to all those who have made a contribution. With their support, over $5,000 was collected to help further our efforts to provide opportunities to children in need. We extend our deepest condolences to the Columbo family and appreciate this very kind and generous gesture.
#StolenBaseChallenge
The 2012 #StolenBaseChallenge was created by friends of the Shane Victorino Foundation as a unique way to tie in Shane's on-the-field success with the Foundation's fundraising. Through the program, participants donate a set amount for each base stolen by Shane throughout the 2012 Major League Baseball season.
To participate in the 2012 #stolenbasechallenge, please complete this form and return to us. Updates will be provided throughout the season through our Facebook, Twitter and website. On behalf of the children who will benefit from the Shane Victorino Foundation, mahalo (thank you)!
