LETTER from the President
Greetings!
I've said it before but it truly bears repeating! Welcome to the 30th year of the AGASC. What was once a vision of a handful of intrepid glass artists in 1981, is now a revitalized and dynamic non-profit organization truly committed to public awareness, education and appreciation of glass as the beguiling medium we love. We have three committee/teams already hard at work to bring you exciting educational opportunities, increased exhibition participation, and enhanced communication services. Watch for monthly events posted in the newsletter and on the website. If you have not joined a team yet, simply let us know your area(s) of expertise or interest and we will find a spot for you. The more, the merrier! Last but not least, thank you for entrusting the AGASC to me and to our new Board for the next two years. You have voted in a dedicated group of artists that honestly believe our success is your success! Cheers, Kathleen Mitchell President AGASC

ART AQUATIC EXHIBIT
at the Chula Vista Nature Center opens!
March 4, 2011 marked the Grand Opening of the Art Aquatic Exhibit at the Chula Vista Nature Center. A number of local glass artists and AGASC members participated and provided fused, blown, and sculpted glass art for fifteen fish tanks of various sizes. The combination of sea life and organic glasswork is stunning. In addition to the tank displays, several of the artists have their work for sale in the nature center gift shop.
This must see exhibit runs through September 5, 2011. The Chula Vista Nature Center is located at 1000 Gunpowder Point Drive, just off I-5 and E Street in Chula Vista. They are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A special thank you and congratulations goes out to the artists whose work is on display through Labor Day.
