New Website Has Launched!
FALL LogoWe're excited to announce that our new league website has launched!

Our goal is to keep the same level of administration and communication as we have in the past while also improving your overall online "experience" with the league.  To access the new site, please go to our new URL, which is:

http://fairfieldamericanlittleleague.org

Stay tuned, as we'll be having photo and video contests (baseball related, of course) as well as give-aways to our league gear store, which has tons of great stuff for the whole family.  As always, if you have any suggestions for improvements or things you'd like to see included within the website, just let us know!

Spring Registration
Will LucasWith the launch of our new website, we're also be unveiling a revised registration process along with an expansion of our league to include:

Future Stars Division - A newly created offering to introduce 5 year olds to the game of baseball.  If your child was born between 5/1/2005 and 4/30/2006, he/she is eligible for this fun-filled program.

50/70 Division - This supplemental league for 12 year olds will be played on a slightly larger field (50' mound, 70' basepaths) with traditional baseball rules such as leading, stealing on the pitch and advancement on a dropped third strike.  If you would like to register your child for this additional league (schedules will be coordinated so as not to impact the Majors schedule), please select this option during registration.

More information about both of these programs will be available on the website, within the online registration page and in future email updates.  Also, if you know of any families with 5 and/or 6 year old children that may not already be a part of our distribution list, please feel free to forward this email to them.

Speaking of registration, there are a couple of new wrinkles (we hope improvements!) to the process. You'll now be able to use a credit card to pay for registration if that is your preference.  In addition, you'll have the option of purchasing a helmet (complete with c-flap) while registering, and we'll deliver it to you during evaluations in March.
Moratorium on Composite Bats
Bats

Little League International has placed a moratorium on the use of composite bats in the Little League (Majors) Division and all other baseball divisions of Little League, effective immediately.

At present, no composite bats for the Little League (Majors) Division and below have received a waiver. If and when any models do receive a waiver, Little League International will inform its leagues of that decision.

We'll be sure to communicate more information on this issue as it becomes available in the coming months.  In the meantime, please make sure that any non-wood bat that is purchased for a 5-12 year old Fairfield American Little League player can be found on this list.  You can also get updated information from Little League's Facebook page.

Looking forward to a great season!!
